Wow. It looks like somebody doesn't like the new prisoner!
although that part where nick went crazy would make an awesome animated gif avatar LOL
I missed the following episode after that. What happened to Nick after his spazmo outside the pub ?
They have suddenly turned Doreen into the whiny dumb bitch that I always remembered her for. I wonder what Colleen did to piss off the writers?
Bring on the Freak. How much longer do we have to wait?
64 episodes to be precise. The Freak makes her grand entrance in episode 287. At the conclusion of tonight's episode, 111 Hits have shown 223 episodesJust over 60 episodes to go until The Freak. Colleen is used somewhat as a stop-gap nasty officer in the gap between Vera and Joan.
Yes, I think it's fair to say things have been in a little lull lately. I'm going to miss Vera tremendously, but I'm looking forward to seeing this "Freak" character, given she seems to have such a reputation.
Be very afraid, she's one scary "lady".
Just going back a few episodes to when Kathy got bumped off - why did the prison officer at the gate have to run into the prison to use a phone ?
Surely you'd think they'd have a phone or inter-com in the gatehouse
Also how quick did they clean up the scene of the hit-run ? No CSI team back in those days ?
I see Anne Phelan popped up last night to look after acne-boy and whiny-girl.Is she playing the same character she later plays, who I think ends up in jail and becomes top dog ?
Correctamundo. She plays Myra Desmond, social worker, forget why she ends up in jail but is there for a long long time.
I used to walk past Anne Phelan's house many moons ago on my way to work from Nth Melb Stn to Curzon Street and would spot her doing gardening stuff. Just a bit of trivia.
She ends up inside forManslaughter. Kills her ex-husband during an argument. Becomes the second main top dog in show after Bea's departure and is inside for just over 100 episodes
Thanks. That's right and I won't mention how she departs, which I remember as it was out of the blue so to speak. Wasn't expecting that as usually the TV mags would mention so and so is leaving whatever show, but no warning, nada.
I'm a bit confused about something - when Vera walked out at the end last night you saw her walking down the road past the white building outside the gate, but when Kathy walked out last week she walked about 20 metres to the road and got skittled. There was no white building just outside the gate.
In an interview Anne Phelan did for the first DVD release in 2001 (and also included in one of the DVD volumes when the whole series was released), she left the show as she wanted a payrise which was knocked back. In the end, it was more expensive to produce the storyline to finish her time in the show than it was to simply give her the payrise!
Vera's ending in the show was very fitting and a little touching. I'm going to miss her. She's a true Aussie TV legend and definitely one of my all-time favourite TV characters.
