Wow. It looks like somebody doesn't like the new prisoner!

OMG. How soft is Davidson? Now she wants convicted criminal Birdsworth to live with her boyfriend in his home?!

The more I see of Meg Morris, the more she annoys me. Utterly self-righteous, often rude and snappy and very opinionated. And it's mostly the wrong one!

Thank goodness that awful Nick character disappeared. That was a really dud storyline that went nowhere fast!

So who is trying to bump her off ? It's not Terry and I gather Vinegar **** doesn't know she's Terry's ex.

although that part where nick went crazy would make an awesome animated gif avatar LOL

I missed the following episode after that. What happened to Nick after his spazmo outside the pub ?

I don't watch it every night, watched most of it except for about a year or two (that long ago I can't remember) when it first came out, but did anyone notice the other night while Bea and Doreen sitting in the rec room, Bea was wearing PANTY HOSE. Can anyone inform me if this was or is regular prison garb?

I recall Val Lehman's speech when she won a Logie thanking the producers for letting her belt up most of the actresses in Australia. :D:D

Alison Paige's teenage son would have to have the worst acne I have ever seen. He has more craters on his face than the moon poor bastard.

They have suddenly turned Doreen into the whiny dumb bitch that I always remembered her for. I wonder what Colleen did to piss off the writers?

The Terry story will thankfully come to an end. It is getting a bit boring to be honest.

Bring on the Freak. How much longer do we have to wait?

Just over 60 episodes to go until The Freak. Colleen is used somewhat as a stop-gap nasty officer in the gap between Vera and Joan.

Yes, I think it's fair to say things have been in a little lull lately. I'm going to miss Vera tremendously, but I'm looking forward to seeing this "Freak" character, given she seems to have such a reputation.

I have to laugh at Meg and Erica's reaction to Vera getting the Barnhurst gig. They've spent so much time contesting Vera's methods, and yet they both think she'll be fantastic at Barnhurst! And Bea must have double the glee given the experience she had at the other prison. Enter Vera to sort them out. If only Prisoner had spawned a spinoff series. I'm sure Barnhurst would have been fun!

yeah I found that strange how they all suddenly thought Vera would make an excellent Governor. There was a time when Erica would do anything to ensure Vera never was Governor. A bit of a kick in the face to Jim considering they told him he was too old school for the Barnhurst job. You couldn't get more old school than Vera.

But what a great character she has been and very well acted.

So 13-14 weeks until the Freak arrives eh?

Just going back a few episodes to when Kathy got bumped off - why did the prison officer at the gate have to run into the prison to use a phone ?
Surely you'd think they'd have a phone or inter-com in the gatehouse
Also how quick did they clean up the scene of the hit-run ? No CSI team back in those days ?

I see Anne Phelan popped up last night to look after acne-boy and whiny-girl.Is she playing the same character she later plays, who I think ends up in jail and becomes top dog ?

Correctamundo. She plays Myra Desmond, social worker, forget why she ends up in jail but is there for a long long time.

I used to walk past Anne Phelan's house many moons ago on my way to work from Nth Melb Stn to Curzon Street and would spot her doing gardening stuff. Just a bit of trivia.

She ends up inside for
Manslaughter. Kills her ex-husband during an argument. Becomes the second main top dog in show after Bea's departure and is inside for just over 100 episodes

Thanks. That's right and I won't mention how she departs, which I remember as it was out of the blue so to speak. Wasn't expecting that as usually the TV mags would mention so and so is leaving whatever show, but no warning, nada.

In an interview Anne Phelan did for the first DVD release in 2001 (and also included in one of the DVD volumes when the whole series was released), she left the show as she wanted a payrise which was knocked back. In the end, it was more expensive to produce the storyline to finish her time in the show than it was to simply give her the payrise!

I'm a bit confused about something - when Vera walked out at the end last night you saw her walking down the road past the white building outside the gate, but when Kathy walked out last week she walked about 20 metres to the road and got skittled. There was no white building just outside the gate.

Vera's exit scene was via the internal gate, Kathy's via the external gate

:D

They obviously didn't spend much on sets.

Vera's ending in the show was very fitting and a little touching. I'm going to miss her. She's a true Aussie TV legend and definitely one of my all-time favourite TV characters.

yeah I agree. Considering deep down most of the staff didn't like her it would have been insufferable to attend a farewell and listen to their insincere goodbyes. I especially liked where she threw the present Mouse gave her on the floor.

Going to miss Vera
