You're in for a long treat then. From memory is in it right up to the last episode, and talk about a STING. The actress who plays The Freak was a very nice lady it seems who must have had a blast playing such a character.

Not giving plots away you have Myra and Rita to look forward to as well.

did anyone catch the shoot out over drug mule Tracey Morris. Those guns made sounds like they were shooting but no actual bullets came out of them. No smoke, no anything. It was kind of surreal. Maybe the prop bloke forgot the blanks that day?

I think you mean Tracey Morris

I always look forward to action sequences on this series for the very reason that they're unintentionally hilarious, but the Morris ambush takes the cake as the worst executed so far. I suspect the McNally thug's confounded look at the 'cap gun' not firing wasn't acting at all.

The episodes lately have been full of win, particularly where it involves Vera. Such is the complex character of Vera that when she cops a good serve from all the inmates and Erica, you cheer on but can't help but feel sorry for her. It certainly helps that Fiona Spence plays her so bloody well.

The last week or so would've been opportune to play a new Prisoner drinking game: take a shot every time Bob comes over to visit Meg.

It screw a screw week and Bobs a good boy scout! LOL

Vera is the spine of the show at the moment and I agree that her acting is superb. It has a great cast of regulars that holds it together when more dodgy actors or plot lines appear which is often it seems

I hope I got something right in this post cos the Prisoner police will be onto me again!

I wonder if jackies talk of a predatory lesbian screw being the reason she escaped Barnhurst Jail only a few months to serve before parole is leading up to the arrival of the Freak. That would be a nice plot twist for the show. The same guard arrives to take over from Vera and bang it's Jackies old mate

Fiona Spence has been fantastic lately playing Vera. It was great to see Erica Davidson get the serve that she has long deserved from that Stuart Gillespie character.

is the old school Prisoner called cell block H in wentworth jail?
l am looking for the doc style Prisoner show that was on telly not that long along same name.

From memory, and the memory is a bit stretched, it was called Cell block H when it was shown on TV in the U.K.

Just a bit of diversion did anyone ever get a look see on the UK women's prison show which i think was called Bad Girls??? saw a few episodes and made Prisoner look like Mary Poppins.

On a side note, I wonder how the show would go if it was made these days with more "swear words" for a start. Imagine it, Bea Smith "YOU EFFFING BAITCHES I'M GONNA KICK THE SHITE OUT OF YOU".

At least back then most of the actresses in the country scored work and that's not counting the other shows on TV that weren't REALITY SHOWS. I don't think it's an age thing but back then TV was worth watching and there was no cable, no reality and footy was played on a Saturday. Sometimes the good ole days weren't so bad.

The event has sold out but a reserve list is in operation. I went to Screen Star Events' last Australian event in 2009 (that one had Maggie Kirkpatrick, Reylene Pearce, Maxine Kilingbatis, Maggie Millar, Louise Silverson and Lois Collinder) and it was a fantastic night, they put on great events with plenty of 'buy up' available.

Was considering going to this event but already had several other commitments on that weekend unfortunately.

Fantastic acting by Val Lehman in the trapped underground scenes. Suddenly Bea isn't so tough. Escape scenes are always fun. Stuart Gillespie continues to amuse, shaking the place up the way he has. But Erica is starting to stand up to him. Incidentally, there was a Swan Districts footballer named Stuart Gillespie.

Haha. Yeah, and it looks like he's onto Judy Bryant.

Or is that into? Maybe he's a bit lonely up there in the sticks and needs a little lovin. He might just turn her! ;)

I have loved the tunnel story. I mean they have a a man hole cover the size of a truck in their prison yards and nobody official has ever decided to see what it is.

Did you see the price of "Super" at 31.9c a litre? Ahhh the good old days.

It's funny, they never portray anything romantic between Judy and Wally at all in their time on the show. I guess Wally is content with his hermit lifestyle (though he becomes more accustomed to city life later, though I don't think he ever accepts city life), and Judy nevers comes on strong with a women, let alone a man.

Love that Super 31.9 c/l sign. Even when I got the DVD of that ep in 2002, I thought wow petrol was dirt cheap back then. It's funny looking at the change in prices back then to today, particularly airline tickets. Later in the series, someone buys a plane ticket interstate (think it's Melbourne-Sydney) and it something like $250 one way! These days you'd pay a fraction of that!
