What do you consider some of the most Australian drinks? Whether alcoholic or non alcoholic? For mine:

  • Dare Iced Coffee
  • Milo
  • Blue V
  • Oak
  • Masters
  • VB
  • Bundaberg Rum
  • Lemon Lime Bitters
  • Carlton Dry
  • Emu Export (for my fellow Sandgropers)

My alcohol choices are based purely on the drinks I've sold the most working at a bottle shop.

You can’t underestimate a good Manager

My angst now is more about exhaustion - retirement is just around the corner and I’m ready. The bank balance isn’t

Yup. My manager is definitely hands down the best one I've had in 43 years in the workforce. If he leaves (or gets pushed) I'll do everything I can to follow. If not, I'll look at doing something for pocket money and live off savings until super kicks in.

My director just got sacked. Not the best boss I've ever had but close to it, great bloke, was shattered when he got the arsee.

My new boss, yeah not so much haha

Anyone have experience with covering in some kind of material kitchen benchtops around a sink?

I have hardwood benchtops at my house. When i lived there i was very attentive and anal about it ( being wood near water) and would dry it several times a day. And it was good for 10 years.

Anyway, over the last year since i moved out my tenants have been less thorough and wood rot has settled in. In hindsight i should have applied several coats of fresh lacquer but didnt.

I feel that sanding back will need to go quite deep and still not solve the issues.

So i am looking for a temporary solution to cover the area in some waterproof coating while its tenanted.
Something that will stick down properly, and can have sink rectangle cut out etc.

Ill attach a photo. Resized_20241025_085629.jpeg

So the bench is L shape and am happy to cover all around the sink (off picture to the right) and back around to where the window frame starts on left.
(When i move back eventually i will remove them and switch to some stone product).
