Was at the game when Mick Mcguane kicked goal of the year.

One of the most demoralising sights. He ran around half a team like it was a training drill.

Made me angry to think about for maybe 20 years. Only now can I watch it think holy hell, that was an amazing goal.

Edit: rubbed extra salt in the wound when we traded a first round pick for him, only to be rewarded with him rocking up to training drunk, getting into a punch on with a teammate and amassing a total of three inglorious games for us.

As a Richmond supporter who can only really remember anything from the last decade, there are plenty of things I am still filthy about, but there aren't really many historical moments that have gone against us I don't think - someone may have something. I guess Geelong beating us by a million points in 2007 as a turning point in their season may be one. I just laugh at that now, even though we haven't even beaten Geelong since, it's just a coping mechanism all Richmond supporters have. E.g the other week I was told we hadn't won a final in the first week since 1980. It's a weird stat, but it's actually sort of funny. Winning two finals in 35 years. Sort of funny.

I'd like to know, however, how Sydney supporters feel now/felt about us beating them by 3pts to make finals in 2014? For us it was simply huge, and almost felt like a turning point in the club's history, but for you it was pretty much a dead rubber, and finished top anyway.

DERBY 12: July 30, 2000

FREMANTLE 1.3 4.4 9.8 15.11 (101)

WEST COAST 5.2 9.6 12.8 15.10 (100)

Terrible loss but the respect I now have for Dale Kickett is immeasurable.
He alone was responsible for Fremantle finally "growing a set" that day !!!
Yeah nah, Dale gave that little prick Reid his commupance that day but Clive was the match winner.

Leo Barry's mark. I have no real qualms with it. To finish 1 premiership each with Sydney was a fair result after 2005-2006.

Also, had the Eagles won that day, the club would probably have just imploded one year earlier than they did.

It didn't take me long to get over 2006. As you (and indeed Roos said), one each seems a fair result.

On the other hand, 2016 still hurts quite a lot. I keep telling myself that it's ok that the dogs broke their drought, but I still feel robbed by the result largely due to our dismal showing in 2014. If that GF had been a win for us, or at least very close then I don't think I would have minded dropped 2016 as much.

We lost a Granny as Harmes was a metre over the boundary. I will never be reconciled about it.

We lost a Granny after being 44 points up at half time. I will never be reconciled about it.

We drew a Granny after being 27 points up at 3/4 time (& lost the replay). I will never be reconciled about it.

They weren't great moments. They were horrible.

This guy gets it.

3 or 4 flags in the last decade probably eases bad juju for Cats and Hawks fans, but generally, success is fleeting and does not come around very often. Some poor bastards never see it. I feel for those folk and hope they get their time in the sun.

Except Freo supporters.

The 2007 semi loss to Collingwood in extra time hurt a fair bit. Going out in straight sets, we lost Kerr late in the year after he busted his finger in a diving tackle in the dying moments of a match, cousins ripped a hammy in the qualifying final & with Judd on one leg.

Come into the game with those and be up by 20 points or so only to lose the match was heartbreaking. Great game though, I can say now- the desperation on both sides was as good as you will see.

In retrospect, Geelong would have smashed us the next week- but we will never know for sure.

Was a horrible off season after that, as well, losing Judd & then the cousins saga came to a head. Was not a great time to be an eagles fan.

I reckon last year you'd be filthy on. You really had it at your beck and call.

Last quarter 1984 GF. If I ever met Bill Duckworth I'd tell him that he made me cry.

You and me both - I wasn't there mind you. Neither was I was the G in 2012 - quite happy not to have experienced that one thank you very much. I'm actually 100% for wins when attending GFs and would like my record to remain intact.

I'm not convinced how iconic it has, or will become but Edwards mark in the '07 semi was about as big a hanger as I can remember in a final. It was a bit of a depressing night tbh but I was in the ponsford stand and went up when he plucked it and still give it a look sometimes to compare to other great grabs.
