plus Saints Kangas with the Sydney game are all chances of an upset, Collingwood were shocking against the Hawks- just need one of those games

as funny as it sounds after yesterday's result, finishing 4th and playing adelaide over there is our best outcome. would be strangely confident provided we're somewhat full strength.

I was thinking this morning - what if coming into round 23 (final round):

Adelaide have top spot sewn up (piss easy draw, would have to fall over to not get top spot)

Hawthorn are set in 2nd - cant go up and cant go down.

Would the hawks rest some key players ready for the first final (like they did last year v GC) seeing as they can not move?

What if they had a choice, if Eagles win they miss out on playing Collingwood??

You cant tell me clubs wouldnt want to "manufacture" a result in that case?

Id say Hawthorn would rather play Sydney or West Coast @ MCG in first week and not play the Pies...

Just a thought....

Looks like its us vs Collingwood for 4th spot. 4th is gonna be important for us particularly cause I dont want to finish 5th and play Freo in the first round of finals. Freo's easy draw has them a very good chance for 8th spot.

Then again as Woosh said, if we win our last 6 we are likely to finish top 2. Winning the last 6 is definitely a possibility still. Our tough games are Geelong, Freo, Pies, Hawks and 3 of those 4 we play at home.

The problem is that the way we have played in the last 2 (3?) weeks we are not looking like winning half those games. This is what is concerning me. Our form has dropped considerably especially in the midfield.
We can make top 4 if we are good enough. We need to get out of this slump pretty quickly though. And it is set up now for us to do so - Brissie first - revenge time - should be (and needs to be) a big win, Freo - nuff said - Cats at home then Port. We would be odds on to win all 4 of those games and a few key ins (Shuey/Embers) should help. If so, then our situation changes completely and bring on the Pies at Patersons.
