Funky stat that was on The Lowe Post podcast. Despite being a 13-50 team and a net rating of -7.8 per 100 possessions, the Spurs are a +154 over the season when Wemby, Vassell and Jones are on the floor. Think that’s a good sign in a disappointing season.

Vassell has been balling lately. Pretty slow start to the year, thought he’d make another jump this season but wasn’t really happening. Since the start of February, he is 22.5P/4.9R/5.1A on 48/42/78 splits in 15 games. Hopefully that can continue.

Was hoping we’d see more of a jump from some of the other guys. Branham has been shooting great since the All Star break but was struggling before that. Sochan has stagnated this season but still have faith that he’ll be a player, hopefully next season. Wesley has improved a lot this season but still has a long way to go.

Obviously we’re in a really good position going forward. Wemby alone is going to be good enough to get in playoff contention in a few years time. Hopefully we’ll have two top 8 picks this season and can add even more quality young players. Going to have a heap of cap flexibility for some vets down the line. Would just be very handy if some of the current young guys could elevate their games to the next level.

Seems to fit the bill on paper. Needed size, needed defense, needed playmaking. Excited to see how he goes.

Do not really understand trading out pick 8 for some picks 6 years away. A lot of people seem iffy on this draft class, so if there wasn’t somebody they were interested in, definitely makes sense to move it down the line. This pick is so far away though, would’ve preferred if it was only a season or so away, because the time to get young talent to pair with Wemby is now, but maybe this was the best deal an available.

I’d be a little surprised if the Spurs still own that pick when it’s time to be selected, I imagine it’ll be used in some sort of big name trade when the opportunity presents itself.
