Homer: OK, boy, I wrote down exactly what to say. Just read it and
you're a shoo-in!

Bart: [walks onstage, squints at cue cards] Hello, Mr. ...Kurns. I bad
want...money now. Me sick.

Homer: Ooh, he card-reads good.

Bart: So pick please me, Mr. Burns.

Homer: [calling from offstage] It's "Kurns", stupid!

Marge: No it's not!

Homer: Disregard.

:thumbsu:

One of my favourite moments of the Simpsons.

I also love the scene where homer is helping the FBI get Burns Trillion dollar bill.

Burns: "I hope you don't mind a little walk, wink wink."

Homer: "arghhhh" (Tries to take the cyanide tablet so he doesn't have to walk).

Others:

Lisa & Homer talking about ham, bacon & pork.

"Yes Lisa a wonderful magical animal."

So many more.

Yep, my parents hate the Simpsons, all we can do educate and spread the word (and love) of The Simpsons...not any of their last 10 seasons though...

Back in the day: To my parents the Simpsons was seen as a sign of rebellion and "effyouness", much the same as James Dean or Nirvana

To the kids of today, the Simpsons is seen as a sign of rebellion and "effyouness" - 15 years ago :(

Marge: You sound like you're going to buy a pony, promise me you wont.
Homer: Mm
Marge: What was that, was that a yes or a no?
Homer: Ba
Marge: Those aren't even words!
Homer: Snah

Watched this episode earlier today, just amazes me how the first time I saw it I would've been about 5, or maybe younger, yet I still laughed at certain jokes which were references to The Godfather and 2001: A Space Odyssey, both movies I was probably over 10 years away from viewing. And now I laugh at the jokes for entirely different reasons. I can't think of any other TV show which has achieved this at all, yet Simpsons did this constantly for 10 years.

Great thread :thumbsu:

The Simpsons is like a marriage

For some people its hard to imagine life without the simpsons

Yet some people will wonder why on earth they are still passionate about it in the first place after all those years

And... 23 years?!!?!??! No marriage lasts that long

you just become live-in friends after all that time
