Make the finals or win 12 games. That should be the expectations. One or the other. If you win 12 games and dont make the finals thats just unlucky. On the same note if you get to the finals with less than 12 wins then thats good enough for a young developing team too imo.

When woosh got his contract extension it was his and the clubs point of view from memory that he would make the finals in 1 of the 2 years.

Since then at the start of this year he said we were ready to make the finals.

Since then he's said we wont pick up the wooden spoon.

He's not off to a very good bloody start now is he.

Well we have the spoon wrapped up! I would be shocked if we get ourselves out of last place.

Were so shit with our timing aswell. The first spoon in the clubs history and we choose this year, the one year where we cant profit from finishing last. Epic Fail.

The only thing that would save us is doing the same thing we did last year. We were 4-11 at the same point and won 4 out of the last 5 games of the year. So who knows we may pull some form out of the bag.

Carlton will probably too quick for us and their small forwards can be hard to handle. Probably a loss. Mind you we got dominated in every area last time and they only beat us by 30~ points at Etihad.

We'll fight Freo hard but they'll end up snatching it as they always do.

Should really beat Brisbane at Subi, they are horrible at the moment, but we are capable of pulling out some really uninspiring stuff this year so never know.

50/50 Port over there, would love to win another away game but they seem to have our number over at AAMI lately.

Should beat Kangas, depends if we play the good North or the bad North really..

Geelong

We are a chance to miss the spoon but being a game behind everyone else, we are still the most likely to pick it up.

Anyone else watching AFL Teams?
was a good stat just on -Time teams have spent in front in a game
West coast were around 4th last on 30 something % while Brisbane was something like 9%. How are they not on the bottom

Fitness. They ran over the top of WC in round 1, Carlton in round 2, Dogs in round 4 and Collingwood in round 10. The only game where they were in control for the whole game was vs Port in round 3. They are the worst team in the league but they may avoid the spoon due to superior fitness levels.

Are they really worse than us?

What's their main problem? Ours is clearly disposal. (Obviously that's not the only one, but the most visible one).

Brisbane has been smashed by injuries more than any other team.

People simply don't understand the detrimental effect that injuries to key personnel have on a team. It means you need to fill holes with inferior players and/or kids and when you have two many weak links in your team it will quickly fall apart at the top level.

We have very little depth so injuries to experience key players in Glass and Kerr has a massive effect on our best 22.

Freo has had a bad run of injuries this last month and look what has happened to them.

Saying that, everything is interconnected and it is more complicated than simply injuries but make no mistake, injuries can stop a freight train.

Injuries = inexperience = losing = no confidence = poor disposal/decision making and so on...it can spread like a disease.

Have a look at Hawks this year.
