Wally Stringhaus' thread about quarters won gave me the idea for this thread.

Anything statistics related can be posted here.

I'm gonna start off by previewing this week's match against GWS - the two best teams statistically when it comes to maintaining possession, time in possession and overall (+/-) disposals.

The below ladder represents disposals.

Looking at that, GWS and the Bulldogs are the only two teams yet to lose in disposals this season. We have accumulated more overall disposals than any other team, while we have conceded less disposals than any other team (GWS are not far behind us in second, though).

This week's match will ne intriguing.

Jack Fitzpatrick... A Very Melbourne Story.

The Dees have now lost to the Bulldogs 11 out of the last 13 times they've met, dating back to 2008.

On both occasions Melbourne have beaten the Dogs since 2008, Jack Fitzpatrick was playing. The Dees haven't beaten the Dogs without Jack Fitzpatrick in 8 years. Jack Fitzpatrick has never tasted defeat against the Dogs.

And those two wins over the Dogs that Jack played in? Those were the only 2 wins in Jack Fitzpatrick's 5 year, 22 game Melbourne career.

No wonder the Hawks jumped at the chance to draft him. He is like Kryptonite to us.....

Figures - Jack Fitzpatrick is the Talias' cousin. Apparently they text each other all the time, until Jack misplaced his phone.*

They'd better be quick. They're about to be silenced.
It seems they have checked a few too many facts for Herr Malcolm Goebbel's liking.

Hopefully they didn't cost us 1.1 billion for nothing - It's odds on we will have yet another new number plate slogan at the next state election. Victoria - the piss money up against the wall on white elephant projects state

Lol

Here's a stat that I found:

Tory Dickson's last game where he didn't kick a goal was Round 8 last year vs Melbourne.
It's 19 consecutive games in which he's kicked a goal, the longest current active streak in the AFL.

Footscray/ Western Bulldogs have had at least one Brownlow winner for each decade since the 1930s. We had two in the 1980s and 1990s. There are only four seasons left now for us to obtain a winner in the 2010s.

Is that 20 or 21 now, i.e. was GWS icluded in your stat? Bruest and 29 rings a bell for the record.
Edit: That was consecutive goals now I recall

Yep. Tory's last 21 games that he's played he's kicked at least 1 goal, equal second are Lance Franklin and Tom Lynch (GC) with 19.

Peter McKenna holds the all time record with 121 games. Lockett reached 114, and among currently active players, Buddy reached 71 from 2006-09 when we kept him goalless in that game where we were 13 to 0 goals up at half time.

Was at that game. Happy days.

Great post.

I remember them all except for Collingwood 2010 and Eagles 2011. I actually thought you got the rounds and years wrong until I continued reading and noticed you included the games I was thinking of.

That game against Carlton in 2002 was annoying. We actually hit the front late in the game, but the goal that put us in front (I think kicked by Brown) was called back by the umpire.

Nice.

I remember the four most recent of those clearly.

Dogs v Hawks in 1999. Scores were tied at 76 with less than one minute to go with the ball deep into attack for Hawthorn. Goal umpire Craig Clark (father of Herald Sun's Jay Clark) was about to signal a behind, but Todd Curley kept the ball in play just before it was able to cross the goal line.
