Until you realise you don't know how Baseball stats work and had to learn what at-bats and sac flys are.

Easier to follow than cricket, sheesh...

If you want to know who the best individual baseballer was, you're gonna have to help me figure out what I'm reading.
Doesn't make sense to me to rank different defensive positions against each other... can't compare a e.g. right fielder to shortstop.

As for offense, well everybody gets to hold the bat and try to smack the ball.

Header rows are wonderful things... but based on # of columns I'm guessing Team/Innings x9/Total Runs.

I thought you were gonna point out that I had the team that batted second every inning on top by accident.

No way to tell from a simple box score which team is home, and which is visitor.

I forgot to count Hits, or what constitutes a hit. Do sac flys count as a hit? If a batter makes it to first base and the person on third base gets home, does the batter who is now on 1st base take the credit?

Yay for your header rows!

Sacrifice flys do not count as a hit, nor do bunts.

In your scoring scenario, the player who scores the run gets the run, but the person now on 1st base gets an "RBI" (runs batted in).

Those who top the group go into the Knockout Stage, and by ranking those teams from best to worst (taking out the MBD-ESH game to keep it fair), we get these Semi-Finals:

Mount Buller v Fighting
Sin City v Ophidian

Your team made the Finals via "Team Quality Balance" which I understand as basically being like Net Run Rate. Ophidian scored 0.87 more runs per innings than their opponents. The Furies only scored 0.17 more runs per innings hence why they're playing Mount Buller since the Demons scored 1 run per inning more and Sin City scored 0.61 more runs per inning.

Fun Fact: Tony Hawk would've been somewhere between a 3-time Olympian and a 6-time Olympian if Skateboarding was an Olympic sport 30 years ago. Yes, Peak Tony Hawk was 30 years ago.

You've all tried, you probably even played video games of it, but now is the time to see who is the best skateboarder with those slick 1990s sunglasses doing 720s and backflips and alley-oops.

Competitors will have 3 runs in the Qualifier, only the best run counts, Top 8 highest scorers go to the Final. Then those 12 get 3 runs again, only the best run count, and that will decide the medals.

And who are the people who think they are the sickest kids on the block?

Pfft to Tony Hawk - if Dallas can compete in his second Olympics at 49, then what's stopping Tony

High-scoring early in the Demons-Furies game until Mount Buller hit 3 trips and a home run top of the 4th. The Furies though don't register a hit from the 4th to the 6th inning and in the end, it's Mount Buller that will be playing for Gold.

The opposite can be said about the Swamprats-Old Boys game. Ophidian was up 8-1 bottom of the 5th before Sin City started scoring freely. Bottom of the 8th, the Old Boys up by 6 runs, you'd think they were safe. Next thing you know, the Swamprats score a Home Run, a Triple, a single and then 3 walks and a double. Unfortunately, the last Sin City batter registers a Fly Out to send Ophidian into the Gold Medal Match.

The Furies don't get any momentum to go their way. They do score 4 Home Runs but only once was someone on a base when it happened. The highlight of the match was the bottom of the 6th when the Swamprats got this to happen: Walk, Walk, Single, Single, Walk, Walk, Strikeout, Single, Strikeout, Fly Out. Why did the Furies keep walking batters, they basically gifted Sin City the Bronze with that innings.

Dice Baseball is fun.

Despite the Demons scoring 3 home runs top of the 2nd, Mount Buller only had a 1 run lead bottom of the 5th. However, with the Old Boys struggling to score runs all game, the Demons register 5 Triples from the 6th Innings to the 8th. The Demons get another Gold Medal as the Old Boys had to their Silver Tally.

Great, I can't use the Aussie excuse anymore, I just look dumb now. Thanks AUR.

Look at it this way: there's a reason I'm quiet as a mouse when the subject turns to cricket... I don't know shit about it, even after my South Asian colleagues explained it to me.

"Oh, that's the sport with the flat bats!" is about the total sum of my knowledge there.

So, fire away!

What about the British guy, he was 51!

What about the British guy, he was 51!

I didn't see him

I did shake my head during an interview with Keegan Palmer - he's 21, and our back to back gold medalist. He spoke about how good the next generation coming through are and how they're pushing the current guys

It's crazy to think at 21 you're a veteran

The sad thing is I think he’s right!
