Know a person from the media department at collingwood. Knew all the delistings for them a couple of days in advance. Normally doesn't give me anything but Said Thomas's ankle is stuffed and they only offered him 200k a year.
I firmly believe it to be byllsh1t and a case of sour grapes from collingwood but still a tad of a concern. Would be nice if our highest paid player could play.

If his ankle was stuffed then I highly doubt he would pass the three medicals setup by the club.
Geez hearing all this Thomas stuff is making me slightly nervous. We will be a laughing stock if this backfires.

Will we? It'd be very confusing if we don't end up with Thomas on our list at this point, but I think the Pies would be the ones with egg on their face if they ended up keeping him.
I mean if we sign him up and pay him this much and he can't get out on the park/is an average player.

I feel the same way, it is quite unsettling, but knowing how bitter they collingwood people are, especially over this, I'd go with my guts and say that they are full of shit and only doing this to spite us

I've worked for Jack Kennedy (fact), admittedly some years ago. As you say he is an ENT surgeon not an orthopaedic surgeon. He will have enough general surgical knowledge (as will most doctors) that will make it fairly easy to understand fundamental aspects of ankle injuries and surgical options. He will also have plenty of connections with surgical colleagues.
I doubt however that any of that is relevant and that he has anything to do with the matter. I suggest that we back the judgement of the CFC medical professionals that have all the relevant facts and have made a call. Not saying that they are infallible (none of us are unfortunately), but no doubt they are better informed and knowledgable than any of us soothsayers.

Then, I expect us to somehow add Laidler to Pick #30 and try to move deeper into the 20's to acquire a swap for Docherty (say Pick #23,24?)

This stuff about Daisy is laughable.
Medical science isn't voodoo, it's not the vibe. After three reviews, I'm confident we'd have a decent idea of the prognosis and his chances of getting back to full fitness....and if there was any doubt about that, I can't see us offering up the big bucks.

They're playing hard ball over in SA for Polec. We should be doing exactly the same. Apparently Port offered their second rounder so Adelaide had to trade away Henderson to Collingwood for their second round pick to get higher in the draft. Bombers will be in the same situation and unless they get a second rounder from the Dogs for Crameri, they won't have the currency to take Docherty.

At the same time I don't know if Essendon would readily trade that 2nd round pick considering they have no draft picks. Hopefully they wanna keep the pick to draft.

Exactly, they'd keep that Pick #22 and treat it as their first selection.
On another note - I wonder if Gumbleton is still on the market, I think we should take him for shits and giggles, just so we can say we have the first 2 picks from the 05/06 draft.
