Good effort. :thumbsu:

Looking out for my own club's players, I reckon either Sam Mitchell or Luke Hodge should be in the top 10. Brad Sewell and Jordan Lewis also deserve a mention on this list. I'd have put them both in before Peter Bell or Steve Johnson.

Luke Hodge has been far superior in 2007 to each of the following footballers:

10. Darren Glass
11. Dustin Fletcher
12. Nathan Foley

14. Simon Black
16. Dean Cox
17. Scott Lucas
18. Chris Judd

I would have him in my Top 10, definitely in my top 15.
I think he is truly one of the elite players in the game, although no doubt, Bollox will call me biased.

I find it hilarious that some people only notice him when he cuts loose and dominates like last Sunday and kicks 6 goals.

He is EASILY Hawthorn's best footballer, for f**k's sake.

Oh, that's right!

We're hardly ever on free-to-air TV, so people don't really know.

All in all not a bad effort and good on you for having a crack.

Since you asked to discuss, a couple of comments:

Fletcher at 11 is about 89 places too high. At the very least he has to be behind Scarlett but he is generally over rated anyway and this has been far from his best year. While I have never been a big Tarkyn Lockyer fan he has been Collingwood’s best performer this year and should be somewhere around top 20. He should be well ahead of Kade Simpson. I’d also have Scott Burns in there somewhere. His clearance work has been central to Collingwood being in the 8.

Edit: I see Figjam beat me to it re Lockyer and Burns. Great minds….

It's good to see a non-Geelong supporter acknowledge the season Steve Johnson is having. His stats are comparable with Riewoldt this year:

...............Riewoldt....S Johnson
Games........19................16
Av Disp........18................18.3
Av Marks......9.7...............7.2
Av Tack........1...................2.1
Tot Goals.....39..................38
Av Goals......2.1.................2.4

You're overrating his season IMO (I'd only have him DEFINITELY ahead of the bolded names). I don't think anyone's disputing that he's a very good player. While he has had some incredible games in the 2nd half of the season, his early season form was average and throughout the season he has lacked consistency to be a top 10. I would also have Mitchell and Buddy ahead of him from a Hawthorn perspective this year.
