How can you justify Brent Harveys position? He has been in the top 3 best players in the comp this year.

How do the likes of Scott West, Simon Black, Nick Reiwoldt, Josh Carr get put ahead of him?

In response to the Glass vs Scarlett debate...

Surely you can understand, Cat's fans, that you being able to see him in action every weekend (Scarlett), whilst not having the opportunity to view Glass in the same manner, is going to give you a less than clear idea of who is really better. Same with us WCE fans. I think Glass has been better, but I don't really know, because ive proberly seen less than half the amount of Cat's games than Eagles ones. From what ive noticed on BF, the neutral observers are split pretty evenly. I would like to be able to say, yeah, Glass is better, or Scarlett is better because they were chosen for AA, however, with Robert Walls on the selectors panel, im not really sure they can be trusted either.

Anyway, my sausage roll is ready.

This is correct. :thumbsu:

Geelong fans see how good Scarlett is every week and don't think any other full-back comes close.

West Coast fans see how good Glass is every week and don't think any other full-back comes close.

Fact is they're as good as each other and well ahead of whoever is 3rd best.

Went to the Saints/Eagles game last Friday night and saw Glass properly in a full game, he's a machine.

I dropped Harvey down to 6 because he was pushed around too easily by Selwood when it counted.

Ive seen him play some great games, and I've also see him become a passenger in a couple.

But the good out-weighs the bad.

Marc Murphy??? How could you justify him being in the top 30 players in the AFL for 2007. What has he done this year???

Wouldn't players like Joel Selwood, Nigel Lappin, Brad Sewell, and Scott Pendlebury be way ahead of him this year?

What people fail to recognise when discussing the Glass v Scarlett debate is that Geelongs Defense >>>>> WCE Defense this year.

Scarlett can attack and rebound from the D50 so well is because hes got Egan and Harley looking after him in case things go ape-shit in hes face. Glass has Hunter and at times Staker but as good as these two are, they are ridiculously inconsistent in their defensive work.

Scarlett is the leader of a bunch of High school bullies. Glass has an army of Primary school kids.

I was refering to the guy who had him at 25.

Kane Cornes?

yepp Kornes is the obvious one he's missed...but i think "Shawn" Burger might need to sit this one out. His brother might get a gig tho coz he's had a good season. I'd throw Sam Fisher, Brett Kirk and Peter Bell in that latest list too.

Please find a spot for Pendlebury in some other list so we dont assume its stupidly biased.

You're overrating his season IMO (I'd only have him DEFINITELY ahead of the bolded names). I don't think anyone's disputing that he's a very good player. While he has had some incredible games in the 2nd half of the season, his early season form was average and throughout the season he has lacked consistency to be a top 10. I would also have Mitchell and Buddy ahead of him from a Hawthorn perspective this year.

Hodge was BOG against both Geelong and WCE (as well as a few others) in the early season wins. Not too bad I wouldn't have thought.

I had to put a Don in (to make sure I was unbias), and he has been the most consistent.

Mark McVeigh has been awesome all year. He would be the highest rating Don.

Anyway, it's pretty amazing that we won ten games but don't have one decent player.

Kane Cornes, yes that is certainly one i have definately forgotten. S Burgoyne definately deserves to be in there. Sam Fisher???? I don't think he has been that good this year. As for Pendlebury, I don't care what anyone else says, he has been one of the more consistent performers of 2007. Remember he was leading the rising star until about round 16 when Selwood got the edge. Brett Kirk and Peter Bell are stiff to miss.

Pendles might be consistent, but to say he's better than

25 - Shawn Burgoyne
26 - Lance Franklin
27 - Steve Johnson
28 - Heath Shaw
29 - Simon Black
30 - Scott Thompson

as well as Kornes and Fisher and Kirk and Bell, shows the amount of footy you actually watch.

Discuss
Some of these points have been raised already:
1) Kornes has been better Corey - and there's more to it than purely the number of disposals
2) Judd top 30? Really? Maybe could sneak him in at 29.
3) Peter Bell has been better than many are giving him credit for. Good pick .
4) Glass is not # 10. If he even makes top 20 I am not sure.
5) Simon Black is not in the top 30 - his teammate Lappin has been better than him
6) Dustin Fletcher shouldn't be in the top 10. Top 30.
7) Kade Simpson? Carazzo has had a better year than he
8) Luke Hodge for top 20. Possible top 15. He has had some awesome games of late, but his first half of the year was sub-par
9) Add in Lockyer, Priddis and Craig Bolton
10) Take Lucas out of there. Top 40 perhaps.

Very good list though, I especially like your top 10.
Good effort.
