Harry Dixon and Callum Vidler have announced themselves as players of the future, whether in a Baggy Green, time will tell. Most will have Harry as MOM but the Poms prepared a deck for aggressive batting, so I am giving my gong to the only quick that tamed it, Callum.
Weibgen too with both bat all ball throughout all the matches.

Wow Konstas and Dixon humiliated the Pom quicks with a T20 like assault, Dixon 83 off 52, Konstas 84* off 64, 190 target from just 21 overs. Eddie Jack and Dominic Kelly both went @11, with their only bowler under @7, Raphael Weatherall. Predicting Jack will play Tests within two years.

For those that missed the carnage as I did, a link.

I had a fair old search for this as seems ECB removes the video from YT at end of day.

The Aussie bowlers will be toiling long hours in the nets between now and the second match with a strong emphasis by the coach on ball control, as this was sadly lacking by most of our attack at key moments of this match. It was a stroke of fortune we had the big Dixon century as a buffer, as had we not the boys may have been battling to stay in the series decider on the 16th, instead of playing to win it.
Hoping the Victorian selectors consider playing Dixon in some shield games this season or at least 2nd 11 games.

Is he on the VIC rookie list then he should play Seconds but unlikely any shield. He looks a good prospect, top scored in white ball games but failed in the red ball one he played in the first leg back in Feb. Looks now to have hardened his red ball technique and we saw the result on the weekend.

ECB stuffing round again with the live stream.

Looks like another cracking batting deck.

Two centurions last night. In the box seat right now
Yes Singh (100) who avenged his double failure in the first Test and second choice keeper Hicks (131) with a possible match winning 143 partnership and in the old fashioned way of 'accumulate runs to tire the opposition'.

For those that did not see the match a link which I bookmarked before ECB removed it.

Aussies are still in a strong position at stumps with all main Pom batsmen back in the sheds for only 182 and still over 200 behind. Junior Bulls firebrand Cody Reynolds the pick of the attack with three scalps.

1-0 series win to the Aust youngsters, congrats on the series win, though Eng had the best of this match after Aust batted well on day 1.

As folk have said, Dixon was the best of the Aust batsmen, whilst Vidler was definitely missed from the bowling attack in the 2nd test.

Aussie Report Card:

Dixon: Our most damaging batsman, who the Poms could not dislodge. 9/10

Konstas: A mixed bag from a future Blue. 6/10

Singh: Another future Blue was solid with the willow plus showed he may develop into a handy batting all rounder by adding his prodigious medium pace swing. 7/10

Weibgen: The skipper who could not buy a run but his bowling did give him a vital 5for in the first game. 5/10

Hicks: His undefeated 130 and 143 partnership with Singh was the catalyst that had us pulling the strings in the decider. Above tidy keeping. 8/10.

Aitken: A future Bull keeper/batsman. Keeping was excellent but did very little with the willow. He can bat as he showed in the Aussie -based first leg. 7/10

Wasley: A couple of starts but lacked the patience and technique to go on. 4/10

Frendo: Has the batting and bowling ability to be a rare first class red ball slow bowling all rounder. 6/10

MacMillan: Skillful off spinner who can handle a bat too. 7/10

Bajwa: Showed his ability with the ball in the first innings of first match. 6/10

Vidler: Clearly the best bowling prospect among our next gen of quicks. 8/10

Beardman: Exciting is the word that comes to mind, mixes express pace with accuracy once he settles in. 7/10

Vernon: His fellow Pilbara native bowls a good line and length, is probably the closest to a specialist seamer among this U19 group, he and Charlie Anderson. 6/10

Reynolds: Once he learns control will be a good'n for the Bulls, can hold the willow too. 7/10

Callanan: Another express man who lacks control. 6/10

Menzies: The baby of the side shows promise as a seamer. 5/10

Gawd .Harry Dixon is huge potential and hopefully we do not hide him in local cricket to long because of his age.
On a scale of 1 to Ricky Ponting, how excited should be about Dixon? Haven’t gotten to actually watch him yet but the performances seem incredible

Dixon, Konstas, Hicks, Singh etc show promise, no doubt, but lets first see them play in conditions where a technique is challenged, as these England decks were no different to those in the big boy Ashes with little movement off the deck or in the air, so these boys were free to play their shots.

Voice of the G Sorry to burst your bubble, Dixon has a lot of work to do if his goal is to play elite level red ball cricket. A good swing or seam bowler with conditions in their favor, would sort out his dodgy technique in a flash, leaves stumps exposed, open stance, no trigger movement, loose defense. All is not lost as he is still only 18 so has time on his side for a competent coach to identify then remedy these flaws to have him technically proficient by the time he reaches senior red ball level. Same applies to others in this squad.
All these kids need at least another two years of Club/Seconds cricket before even being considered for a FC career.

Imagine not giving a 10/10 to someone who averaged over 100 across a series.
