If Puopolo gets traded, then one of Stewart or Miles have to be kept for next season as depth. Both players still out of contract though.

Both deserve to be on our list next year for mine.

I suspect Stewart and Miles will be on the list next season but I cant see either being selected ahead of Harry, Ollie or Cuz. Check out Cousins game V the Swans if you have any doubt.

There was chat we may look at Harley Balic don't know a lot about him so maybe Stewart might head home to WA in some sort of trade - but then again all guess work until trade week I suppose

Unless a trade occurs for Whitecross or Miles, all 3 will be on the list next year. The players I can see getting delisted are Willsmore & Heatherly (on top of the Fitzpatric, Surman, Hodge & Gibson retirements), with the likes of Stratton, Birchall, Puopolo & Duryea all on the trade table. Guys like Smith, Gunston, Frawley, Sheils and Breust shouldn't feel too safe either.
If guys like Smith, Gunston, Frawley, Shiels and Breust are contracted, then they feel as safe as houses, because it's they who decide where they play next season!

You are correct, they are contracted so can veto any move. But if Clarko comes up to you and says we want to trade you because of 'insert reason', you probably start to consider your options. So whilst they are safe from the view they can veto a move, do you want to play for a club that has a reason to not want you next year (I know that sounds blunt)?

Surely they can refuse to go to GC even if they are not contracted. May end in delisting, but they can refuse to go. Opt to go back in the draft. Risky approach but possible.

I imagine that if they were told they may be traded smart players would ask their manager to sound out clubs that may be interested. They would be stupid to just consider only where the club asked them to consider. In such a situation the player's best interest may not be the same as the club wishing to trade him.

Am not sure on that. Ollie hasn't played a game yet, Harry played in a pretty bruise free game where we controlled the game for large parts and Cousins falls one spot further back as a mid with Jags back.

Not 100% convinced n either Miles or Kade at this stage, but would put them no further back than the others you mentioned, but behind Conor Glass.

Stewart is to small and slow and struggles with the tempo of AFL footy for mine?
Duryea will leave,I have heard one of the Sydney clubs are interested!
Poppy to GWS!
Whitecross and Hartung to Brisbane?

^Definition of going off half-cocked

I agree with Poppy, WhiteX & Hartung outs, but Stewart still has some time to come into his own.

Going early on Miles, I think. Guy needs at least one more preseason before we judge him IMHO

I just ask myself, who else with that physic has ever made it in league football? The only guy that comes to mind for me is Kevin Bartlett but he had pace and was a lot more skillful than Miles. I just can't see it myself. I was shocked that they handed him a 2yr extension when he had shown almost nothing at senior level.

The other question mark is Jonothan O'Rourke. The fact that he's still unsigned is odd and makes you wonder if they're considering cutting their loses. I'd give him one more year myself. 2018 is make or break for him (injuries or not). Its hard to swallow that it's come to that given what we gave up for him (pick 19). First time I think Wright has really dropped the ball that I can recall. We could have brought in Mitch McGovern, Harris Andrews or Touk Miller with that pick.

I have massive concerns regarding him.
I know alot on here say look at his box Hill form he has shown plenty.
Personally I don't see any physical attibutes that will translate into a very good midfielder at AFL level or atleast the one we expected.
He doesn't posess explosiveness from the contest nor a big body or strength in the contest to hold his own like Mitch, even his will/appetite for the contest isn't manic.
On the outside he does have a nice tank yet lacks the speed of an outside player.
I have no idea what to make of him because he really doesn't excel at anything.

Vanilla would have sufficed

I'm a fan of Stewart but he really needs to work on his spacial awareness and stop getting caught with the ball, because he got caught by Corey Ellis twice on the weekend in much the same way both times.

That's an experience thing though.

I like when young players get caught, because it means they're trying to be aggressive. It's much easier to teach someone to be less aggressive than it is to make a timid player play less timid.

(compare Sicily to TOB, for the big example of this)

It wasn't Corey Ellis anyway it was that russian pole vaulter kid, which seems a bit better from Stewart's perspective because if it was Ellis I'd definitely be worried about speed.

If they get tapped they're out, no-one is vetoing a trade if Clarko tells them he wants them gone. A few people here have said to buckle in for big change, personally I can't wait.

Our squad some stale footballers, guys who are quality but the comforts of their surrounds have seen them lose their edge.

Bring on trade week and the delistings

Has no defensive attributes and yesterday didn't do anything to change that.
