once again tumba get within 6pts 3quarters the way through the third quarter and end up going down by 7gls. tumba had plenty of chances to win the game but corryong defence stood strong and was well lead by jim barlee, matty hayes came into his own in the last quarter and evan nichols getting plenty of kicks around the ground.
the posiitive 4 tumba was they were'nt blown out of the water and their players know they just have to put 4 quarters of football together and they will be able to match it with the top 3 teams.Tumba will play finals this year their coach is pretty confident of that. Was cudgie walwa game spiteful. can anyone tell me why chris spicer was drop to the ressie.Tumba coach says clearances shut end of june if he wants to come back.

cheers for giving this game a bit of a wrapup - good to see tumba improving after a lean few years - agree also they should play finals and its shaping to be an even spread this year! hayes is a genuine gun up there, apparently did no training and has walked in and still carves it up, can win games single-handedly

walwa also looks to be getting better, probably a few blokes still dont know each other so will only get better!

any big incidents/fights/funny stuff that can only happen up there in any of the UM games??

Yeah Walwa v Cudgie game had the best blue i have seen for a long time nothing like a all in to get people going.
Skip was dropped this week as he was crook and carrying an injury and couldn't train all week

i dont know who your source is and personally i think u just made that shit up because u have nothing better to talk about.i can tell u we have 16 new players and its just taking us a little bit to get to know each other.no ones leaving. we had a good team chat at training on tuesday and weve resolved to cut out the shit and just get back to basics and start playing the footy we all know we can. AND SILVER KID DONT BELIEVE EVERYTHING U READ JUST BECAUSE 1 PERSON TELLS U IT IS SO. I SUGGEST U GET THE FULL STORY BEFORE SHOOTING YOUR MOUTH OFF.

i didn't make up the rumor.i was told that he players in questions didn't realise how far it was to travel and with work commitments it was hard to play and train.

so cudgy are regaining some pride in the upper murray league after losing against bullioh.can anyone tell me when a team went from back to back to wooden spoon??? and maybe winless??? bullioh are crusing and look to have it in the bag....cough,cough,cough........

cudgy v walwa game was a good close game all day apart from a ten min burst with cudgy getting a couple of quick goals with that being the game breaker in the end. a few things out of the game was young Ned hewitt looking like doing his collarbone again which is a big blow for himself as he has put in over the summer, a great goal by matty alldridge that u had to be there to believe, also a cudgy player thought he was playing dodgeball instead off footy wen the fight broke out he decided to throw the footy at a walwa players head instead hitting his own player, as always some terrible umpiring calls by a young kid who will only learn from the countless numbers of weird calls he made and last off all walwa have some very good making defenders and forwards taking strong clean marks but couldnt make them count on the scoreboard but look like they will make tumba have to fight for the 4th spot in the finals this year.

Don't worry about the Walwa boys i think Federal have the biggest headache's in the comp. Saw them advertising for players in the Border Mail so they must be on struggle street.

Anyway TC's tips for the round are:-
Bullioh by 99 even if Whale and Beau make a comeback
Cudgy by 15 against the ever improving pies
Corryong by 23 in a tight struggle with the original TC's boys

In the 2's
Cudgy by 25
Tumba by 85
Bullioh forfeit

Definately a player shortage but from what I hear not a money shortage. Apparently they have between $30,000 and $40,000 sitting in an account ready to pay players who want to join the club. The problem has been that they have searched and searched and cannot find any players who want to either a) play in the UMFL or b) play with federals. Hence the ad in the Border Mail. If they dont spend this money this year they will have plenty to thow around next year.
So I guess if anyone is out there who wants a quick cash injection go and see the federals crew.

super wog i don't think fourth spot is the only spot up for grabs what about second an third. then again use's top up your playing list for the last 6 to7 games[ cudgie; bullioh, corryong].

u seem to keep coming back to cudgy topping up there list halfway threw the year. wat bout u keep saying every week how u have got another player coming across from so and so its just a fact in the upper murray that teams get players to there clubs due to them only plaing seconds at there clubs in town and no they will play ones up here, and yes we will be hopefully adding a very good player to play cozza this weekend and r still chasing players due to the fact again the club didnt do much recruiting pre season.

what does it matter if they do. every club can if they want. if they choose to do that good luck to them. i know we are still trying to get some players to top us up(and the way we are going we mite need them). theres nothing wrong with it.

fully agreed, half thier luck if they can recruit some deecnt players pre-finals. at the end of the day its the aim to win the premiership!

I agree silver... However most clubs will find they need to do the mojority of their recruiting in the pre-season as it's hard to lure players when your not winning games. your right though if you can recruit a few mid season why wouldn't ya...

If they have all this money why don't they pay their Albury/Wodonga based players around $75 a game base and pay $25 a game for 2's players:confused: Surely that would be an incentive to easily field sides. Have a player auction and the club will get a lot of that money back:confused::confused::confused:

its god to see federals are trying to keep a ones side. once a club folds altogether its very hard to get it back up and running again.and im sure you would rather have 6 teams to play than 5.

Get some motivated people and get the Bethanga footy club up and running again. If they have the right people running the club there would be no reason why they couldn't be admitted. Bullioh have been great for the comp as there are now 15 games being played unlike the old 12 and they have greatly helped getting a half decent reserves comp up and running.I'm sure they could get 2 senior grades and probably get an under 10 and or 13 side up, the comp could even go to 18 rounds with the admittance of a 7th team:thumbsu:

mates at wodonga saints told me they are trying to revive the old bethanga. not to play as bethanga but regain its links.i understand what your saying though.

yeah preseason is the go, but for older blokes and those with work commitments coming into the side later in the year can be easier for them. although sometimes it does cause a hassle with players getting dropped who have played all year...

i'm sure feds will snare a few players as the season goes on, but still i couldnt see them turning it around to the extent of being a premier again...

how has aaron nank and evan nicholas been going for the demons? still winning alot of it in the midfield?? seems like jeffries has been in good form too!

and why hasnt demondibble been posting? he came onto the forum very strong but has gone mute!

does anyone know the maximum senior games an under16s player can play and still play finals for under16s??
not 100% sure but would be along the same as if u play more then 7 in the ones u cant play 2nds finals. But as we all no the rules do tend to get broken wen it comes to this rule.

so it was upper murray at it's best on the weekend.cudgy seem to be putting it together.i see a few more players going up to cudgy.where do these guys come from and how are they recuirted up there???? i see the 2's are looking good aswell.well done super wog!!!! maybe it will be a blue and dog grand final in both grades???

missing in action is demon dribble???? where are you??

Cudgy 2's are a handy outfit but I don't think you can take last weekends results as anything to go by. Walwa had a lot of young kids as well as some old, old men but they were far to good.

Anyway my tips for this week:
1's
Bullioh by 64 points
Corryong by 3 points
Walwa by 44 points

2's
Bullioh by 41 points
Cudgewa by 135 points
Walwa on forfeit. And for them to be drunk by half time of the 1's.

It'd be good if we had the time to go through and tally up the tips, see whos leading...

mine for this week:

bullioh def tumba by 60 points - dogs will be hard to beat until finals
border walwa def federal 70 points - feds will only get better but looking forward to what the pies can do this year
corryong def cudgewa 12 points (GAME OF THE ROUND)

lookin forward to demons vs blues - have always pushed each other and are shaping up pretty even at the moment. if demons onballers can win the clearances they should take the game.
