That's bullshit, Biden implemented Trump's exact border policy and Harris ran on it, that's never going to be a winning issue for Democrats when the people who support those policies already have republicans to vote for.

I get what you’re saying, but imo
- democrats tough on border = electable

- democrats weak on border = unelectable

Just a reflection on worldwide trends

Albo = stopping the boats = electable

Albo = free for all boat arrivals = unelectable

Similar trends throughout Europe

And clearly the way the majority of people think these days

Same thing will happen in France and not even a coalition of left wing parties will be able to stop it

The thing I find amazing is the trend in immigrant to western countries that have similar feelings. Sure many are pro refugee/open immigration, but more and more seem to worship at the shrine of anti woke close boarder policies

I tell ya what..

This whole thing reeks of en elon musk bitcoin/etherium pump and dump.

If Trump brings in his economic policy, the US gdp will crash harder than the GFC.

Undocumented immigrants contributed 96.7 billion dollars to the US federal, state and local taxes.

His tax policy gives the top 5% of earners the biggest breaks, the bottom 5% will pay higher taxes..

This ^^^ this is why low—-> middle class people should never ****ing vote for these pieces of shit..

This will have HUGE impacts on us.. massive global market hiccups.

this whiny little campaigner, give me a ****ing break. ooooooh joe biden called me trash I had no choice. just own what you are and what you believe in
No nail, no head..

83% of uneducated people voted for trump.. insult to his intelligence.. he’s a scam coin investor, thats why he voted for trump, to tear down the global economy. Watch it burn.
The guy has valid points and you lot choose to play the man and not the issue.

Look at what happened when we had the recent referendum. With the exception of a circle in NSW...the entire country voted unanimously 'NO'. This is because people don't like being alienated, being told that they're racist, bigots, dumb etc.

And when that happens....the people wait until they're in voting booth to give their 'GO **** YOURSELF' vote.

Same thing happened with this election and the people voted.

Electoral college, popular vote, house, senate......but sure this is just a result of dumb voters.

That is because most European countries populations are pro legal immigration and anti illegal. They never voted for open borders to illegal immigrants but their politicians and civil service didn't give a shit and eventually the electorate gives them the finger.

Feels like you're just trying to slot what happened here into your preconceived notions. Harris spent this entire electoral cycle coddling and pandering to conservatives in the hope that there was this mythical faction of anti-trump republicans who would flip for her. But conservatives were always going to vote for Trump because at the end of the day even if they find him personally offensive or whatever he's with them on the issues. The kind of passionate, publicly vocal Trump supporters that Portnoy is implying swung this election are ****ing desperate for things to get aggrieved about, they were covering themselves in rubbish bags one day after senile Biden made an offhand comment in his whisper voice. They were not the decisive voice in this election, they're a weird little fringe minority of voters.

I think this Trump victory is largely a function of really, really low turnout. Because people who would normally turn out to vote for a Democrat saw what Harris was telling them with her words and actions: I'm basically a republican, so why bother voting for me against the actual republican?

Portnoy's a ****ing idiot. In that video he's babbling incoherently. He sounds like a whiny piece of shit implying that he and all the other racists like him simply had no choice but to vote for Trump because they need to feel constantly aggrieved and like they're oppressed little victims because the entire culture isn't glazing them up constantly. Is it playing the man to point that out? I don't care.

Because low income earners vote for Trump/GOP/Conservatives and will be worse off. Thats why.
That is an extreme generalisation that doesn't paint your level of education in a good light. Do you think all low income earners are stupid?

The problem with this hypothesis is that we haven't seen what it looks like when a Democrat stands behind, campaigns for and shows leadership on objectively popular progressive immigration policies like a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants and a more functional immigration system that admits more people, instead they're either shy about their policies out of fear of upsetting conservatives, or they do what Harris did in this election and just adopt a far-right immigration policy in the hopes of appeasing them. That's what doesn't work. A candidate like Bernie Sanders might've been able to make that case, but we'll never know.

This one's kind of bullshit. You don't elect Giorgia Meloni because you're concerned about people not using the correct pathways to enter a country.

No you elect her when you have run out of faith in mainstream politicians. See Germany, France (both sides) , Brexit and Reform for further evidence.

You don't vote for those parties unless you're a racist or completely comfortable with racist attitudes. Racism is a massive problem in that part of the world, has been for centuries. It had to be constructed as an ideology to justify to the masses the horrors of colonialism, now it stays around and gets cultivated because it's an easy way to drum people up into a fervour without actually doing anything to address the issues that cause their unease. Same here and in America. It's not entirely untrue that a failure of the mainstream political system is necessary for far-right elements to rise to power, but it wouldn't be possible if that extreme racism wasn't there to be exploited.

What are you talking about an “extreme” generalisation? Ive been a union bloke for 20 years. I see it with our members. Give me a ****ing spell. ****ing turkeys that vote for christmas

Look at low income workers who vote because they dont like the brown person next to them.

Or they believe they’re “better off” because of populism and identity politics.

Its a huge component, Trump played it well.

No policy on anything, just rambled about illegals and foreign trade. Plus a little slagging off on opposition and a touch of health here n there. He was destroyed in the debate, pulled out of the next 2. Went on Slow Rogan who I used to admire pre covid, he had a real sense of community and socialism. Then “click” covid happened and boom.. hook line and sinker.

Racism is a problem in EVERY part of the world. The Germans have started voting the Nazis party back in. Desperate people do desperate things, as do the politically homeless. Research voter turnout in recent elections for more information. There is a trend...
