Dude, that’s Theo Von. The fact that anyone would take that seriously is beyond ridiculous. His whole schtick is saying silly things.

Probably the most likeable person in comedy.

Relax.

Asserting that there are cabal of Jews that run the media and use it to conspire against white men is a bit more than silly.

He wasn’t saying that at all. He was ****ing around.

Are you familiar with Theo?

Well, he did say that.

I've seen some of his stuff, including the Trump interview. Have never found him particularly interesting.

That's the thing with these huge podcasters, they have such a deep impact on political discourse now so much that they have Presidents on and endorse them, but then they can just pull the old 'well I'm just a comedian don't listen to me' ripcord whenever they misstep and say something ridiculous..

It can be easy to say well, these two are just 2 guys shooting the shit, but they aren't. They are powerful inflluential people with an audience of hundreds of millions, I personally think they have some degree of responsibility to their audience and the discourse that is put out there.

The Trump interview was probably one of Theo’s most boring podcasts.

If you’re not familiar with Theo, it’s really hard to explain him, he’s so unique.

You can’t expect people that came from nothing, spending years barely scraping by but still doing stand up and podcasting, couch surfing, living out of their cars etc.. to go full Jimmy Kimmel from the man show sell out, when they become successful, especially nowadays with legacy media bombing.

I'm not asking them to sell out just to think a little more about what they put out there especially when it's tropes that have been used by the genuinely bad actors.

Extremely well said.

The amount of support for that, the texts to black americans nationwide, and now Rogan's latest guest openly saying 'Jews run the media and hate white guys' without any pushback.
...

Yeah this is straight up, classic variety anti-semitism.

"The Jews" run the media.
and "the Jews" hate "white people" (because Jews are separate from white to these people).

Yeah, it's disgusting crap that needs to be called out.

Hey chad, sometime you gotta gives us your post election review.

I'm still somewhat in denial.

Electing him once could be hand-waved away as a fluke, or a weird 'glitch' in an imperfect political system.

But electing him twice means this is who America is, and I really really didn't want that to be the truth.

Honestly? It's really caused somewhat of an existential issue for me. It's hard to put into words.

Pretending the Russians somehow made 2016 possible led directly to what happened last week.

This has to he acknowledged.

If the Democrats and non right wing US media had been honest with themselves post 2016 instead of retreating to a comfortable fantasy world, then they would have been very well placed to see him off once and for all.

The refusal to properly hold him to account for his behaviour post the 2020 election loss also plays a huge role.

Almost like the Democrats didn't want to accept the reality of what happened then either.

Insurrection should be punished, swiftly and savagely. You don't let the leader simply bide his time for another crack at the earliest possible opportunity

For what it is worth Chadwiko the US has faced far worse than this and come through.

I have faith in their ability to do it again, but they really need to learn some harsh lessons.

Like spending three years of a presidential term trying to make people born Russisn speakers in culturally Russian places like Donetsk become Ukrainians is not the best use of the awesome power of that office

tell me how the most armed citizenry on the planet stage an insurrection without weapons?

... I'm sorry, are you denying the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol happened?

You know it was widely recorded and broadcast, right? We all saw it.

And an 'insurrection' is defined as an uprising against an authority or government.
This wasn't a bunch of soccer fans rioting after a match, or even a violent protest. It was an attempt to stop the certification of a democratic election. That is, by definition, an insurrection.

Not playing this game, Jan 6 was a clear insurrection aimed at overturning the democratic result of 2020.

The Americans started another insurrection just by throwing chests of tea off a wharf too.
