Interesting that all the speculation suggests Lynch either joining the Tigers or Pies, however watch Hawthorn swoop and get their man as a free agent just like they have in the past. Lots of money, draft picks to swap. Ageing list. Clarko rubbing his hands with glee.

All that matters not if Tom doesn't want to go there.
It's probably what will happen though.

I think Tom is set to go to Richmond and all this Collingwood hype is bs.

However if he were to come to the Pies I won’t be complaining. He will be the second best Lynch to play in the black and white ;)

Not sure if you are qualified to be commenting on our Lynch’s.
That’s my job.

Have heard from a half-decent source that Lynch wants around $1m a season for 7 seasons.

If true, walk away.

Yep, could live with $1m a year but anything over a max 5 years is just ridiculous. And that all off course assumes he's coming as a FA. If we have to trade then I still think we need to walk away.

I’m torn between whether he’s going to be a superstar and worth the big coin or above average and overpaid.
That will depend on where he ends up of course.

Agree, but I’m thinking May should be our target. We have a very functioning forward line and that’s without Elliott who is an A grader when not injured. I emphasise on the “when not injured”

Given his age, I'd like to see a fair few more runs on the board before I offered a Buddy Franklin price.

Buddy was $1m a year in a $10m TPP (10%), this rumoured amount is $1m a year in a $12m TPP (8%).

Yeah Graham Wright doesn't miss too many eh?

Have Hawthorn decided now that they're happy to pay one player such a large % of the kitty? If they're still working under their old rules I'd be surprised if they're even in the ballpark.

Maybe things have changed a bit now that they're working their way back?

Hawks have a hard run home, they could easily go 1-3 in the remaining games (could go 4 zip too), but if they do go 1-3 they'll finish around 12th (maybe worse), if that happens the GC will likely match the bid IMO, making him a less attractive proposition.

The GC would rather pick 6 and Hawthorns 2019 first over pick 3 considering Hawthorns aging list, IMO.

They would probably try and snare a ready made player on top of that as well

What’s this imaginary world that people have made in their heads about Hawthorn always getting their man? Just as many players have overlooked them as any other team, and they’re not the guaranteed success destination they once were. They’re just another club now.

Barrett was going over the Ned Guy fence story on Triple M and unfortunately the other half witts in the studio talked over the top of him.

He seemed to think that Bucks having personally spoken to Lynch "a while ago" was only 4-5 days before the Footy Classified episode last week.

He also thought that Richmond had discussions with Lynch this time 12 months ago and were under the impression he would be a good chance to cross over at the end of this year, although seemed unsure if them winning a premiership in the meantime has altered his desire.

Sounds like he has been reading the Richmond board to me. Come on Damo, we've also been saying we've been speaking to him for multiple years!

Unless the Hawks have done away with their policy of not paying any one player disproportionately then I can't see them getting involved seriously - I also can't see Tom dropping his price just to go there .
