It will be Beveridge, fronkalicious was right all along
You heard something mate?

Very happy if it's Beveridge, considering how underwhelmed I was with the first 'likely' options I'm pretty relieved to actually like the option we've chosen (if it's true of course)

Don't know what it is about him but I really do just get a good feeling about him. Now we just need to get the right support staff around him (which probably includes Monty and I'm happy with that, think about it if he really knifed Macca do you think the club would put him alongside his new rival? Probably not...)

Everyone needs to calm the **** down and even if you don't like the route we've gone down, you can have your opinion on it, then just shut the **** up and get behind the man until you've seen proof that he cannot coach. Please. Is it really too much to ask for to get behind the coach of your favourite club, considering you have no reasons whatsoever not to?

It was minson who first raised the specter of Iago to Hunter in relation to Monty

Which Stevens overheard and mistook for dago and sat Wil on his back thinking it was a racial slur.

Confused, Hunter invited his mother to the pound cafe for breakfast to obtain some understanding of this name Iago in relation to Monty

Monty having got wind of events quickly worded up B Mac that Hunter was bitching to his mother for all the world to hear about training and selection.

Trusting as was his nature, Bmac interrupted the said breakfast and called Hunter a mummies boy.

Monty then told griffin how cruel Bmac was with hunters mother. Minson on the other hand told Griffen to read othello and he will then understand that Monty is Iago

Griffin read othello whilst on a fishing holiday and came back suspicious of everyone and fearing for his life. He decided to never return to the WO again .

That was act 1

In act 2
After Griffen leaves for fear of his life, it was simple for Monty to convince hunter and his mother that it was all because of bmacs cruelty.

This enraged hunters mother enough for her to speak to Gordon directly about bmacs belittling of her son as a mummies boy and his general cruelty as detailed carefully to her by Monty.

Thus end act 2

Just wish this was over tbh. If its Monty so be it, hopefully he proves everyone wrong including myself, if not we will get a shitload more low pics and a new coach in 2-3 years.

Mofra picking a rooky coach after all that has happened is a decision fraught with great danger
No one has any confidence in the administration. There is Monty as assistant and a rooky coach. I find myself giggling at all of this - Beveridge maybe the best thing since slice bread but his a got no chance to unite this club.

EVERY coach started off a rookie at some point. Every single coach you pick comes with a risk. Experienced or Premiership winning coaches does not guarantee anything. Look at Lyon and Eade as examples. Now look at Clarkson. First time as a senior head coach and already has three premierships to his name. Look over the past 25 years and coaches with no previous head coaching experience have won bout the same, if not more premierships than recycled coaches. You cant make it sound like we should avoid all coaches who have never coached before. There is simply sweet stuff all out there in terms of proven quality to go for, as they are either contracted to another club or have no interest in coaching in general. Plus guys like Williams and Matthews come with risks themselves as both had the luck of having two complete and great teams at their disposal, and the game styles have changed heaps since they last coached. Also look at Scott from Geelong, one could say he is a great and proven coach because he has a premiership, but to be fair he had it handed to him on a platter by being handed a gun Premiership winning team and a good coaching staff. But yet to actually prove himself from the bottom up.

Hiring a rookie coach is no more risky than hiring any other coach at all

"I'm sorry my opponent didn't think enough of you to show up for this interview. I'm sure he had more important things to do!" *glug glug glug*

Choco in the frame

Have been catching up on 15 pages of this thread, and that has to be the third or forth time you have said this. Could you say it one more time so I can be more sure of your opinion please?

Please excuse my ignorance but has Leigh Tudor withdrawn his application?

We don't even know if he is a candidate. The club has been silent, there has been media speculation but nothing from the Dogs.

For all we know he could be leading the race and appointed tomorrow.

Sumich out, you've got to admire this Iago he knows his stuff. Beveridge now in his sights, may the best man win. This is exciting:)

Yeah, it's certainly getting old, isn't it.

I was with him in the initial stages of the McCartney sacking, dude's well and truly lost the plot over the ensuing weeks to the point there's now pages and pages of utter shit clogging up numerous threads.

LUKE Beveridge’s chances of taking the reins at the Western Bulldogs continue to shorten despite his extended stay overseas.

Beveridge has spent about three weeks on a family holiday in the United States but the Herald Sun believes he is due back on Monday and the Dogs’ selection panel has received strong feedback regarding his rapid rise from the football industry.

GREATS SAY DOGS MUST NAIL NEXT COACH CHOICE

While the Dogs are in no rush, they are tipped to unveil either Beveridge or current senior assistant Brett Montgomery late next week with the senior players starting pre-season on November 17.

Fremantle assistant Peter Sumich was set to be interviewed but withdrew on Tuesday citing family reasons.

Montgomery formally presented to the selection panel in the city on Wednesday.

Beveridge is due to start as St Kilda’s director of coaching this month and sources close to the 44-year-old suggested while that was weighing on his mind he was increasingly likely to unpack his belongings at Whitten Oval.

That could force the Dogs to compensate the Saints, in similar fashion to when St Kilda sent about $20,000 to Port Adelaide after poaching Alan Richardson last year.

The Power then paid around $10,000 to help new Gold Coast assistant Ashley Prescott move from Perth after it pinched the contracted Shaun Hart.

Collingwood football manager Rodney Eade’s official appointment as Suns coach was delayed last week as they thrashed out a financial settlement with the Magpies.

Either appointment could see the Dogs then grab an experienced head to oversee their second consecutive virgin coach.

Brendan McCartney resigned last month, placing his senior assistant Montgomery — named the assistant coach of 2014 — in the box seat and with the backing of the players.

PRE-SEASON TRAINING BEGINS

Montgomery’s intricate knowledge of the Dogs — after two playing stints there he has spent the past four seasons on the coaching panel — and ability to present impressively sits in his favour.

Beveridge — who steered St Bedes-Mentone to three-straight VAFA flags and impressed in two years as a development coach at Collingwood — spent the past three seasons as Hawthorn’s backline coach as it reached the 2012 Grand Final and then won back-to-back premierships.

Retired Hawks champion Brad Sewell said Beveridge was ready for the Dogs’ top job, praising his relationships with players.

Power forward Tom Boyd trained with the Dogs on Wednesday as rising star Lachie Hunter won the 2km time trial from Mitch Wallis and Marcus Bontempelli.

Development coach Joel Corey was on hand and will remain at the Dogs next year despite most of the Geelong flavour — McCartney, Cam Mooney and Matthew Scarlett — leaving.
