What if Chris Grant didn't have that shot smothered in the dying seconds vs the Crows in the prelim of 1997. The dogs would have played the Saints and we would of had a different winner. Who would have won that game?

What " what if " moments hurt you as a supporter? Injured players, closes losses, losses that could have been avoided or horrendous passages of play that changed the momentum or affected the outcome.

Travis Varcoe this is your life.

I recall back in 1997 watching a semi final and WCE were in cruise control right on top of the game raring reigning premiers North Melbourne a new one. Jacko was killing Carey and Jarrod Schofield was playing like a pitbull on speed. WCE led by 32 points and as soon as Schofield did his ACL which would in actual fact be his last game for the club the momentum swung completely. North ended up winning the game and ironically Carey who was well held got the match sealing goal. Didn't help that Phil Matera kicked 3.5.

If Schofield stayed on the park, WCE win that game convincingly only o get poleaxed the next week to the saints in a Friday night prelim.

Daisy Thomas tackle on Rioli prelim 2011. What a ****en beauty that was. What if Thomas didn't run him down. Rioli should have been more aware. Hawks might have won, then we would have beat them in the granny instead of The pies:D

Jokes. Free kick Hawthorn.

Could have made a whole thread just on Dogs moments.....

What is Libba's shot was a goal ?
What if Hardie had paid attention to Matthews late in 85 ?
What if Rooke was called for front on contact against Johnno ?
What if Reiwoldt didn't dive ???
What if Aker wasn't paid deliberate ? What if Reiwoldts goal was touched by Morris ??
What if Billy Brownless missed after the siren ??

But it's all in the past, shit happened and will probably keep happening. Just helped make 2016 so memorable....

Dogs win in 2016 was not just one of my favourite footy moments ever, but sporting moments ever.

No one desered to end the drought more. That was on end of the most stirring wins, and final campaigns I've ever witnessed.

Probably the best in actual fact. Just freakishly good.

**** that sounded like a cross between Mcavaney and Dwayne Russell.

Apart from the obvious Saints ‘what ifs’ I’d love to see what would’ve happened if one of Ball/XClarke hadn’t been smashed with injuries.

Seems strange because it didn’t cost us anything, but Henry Playfair has possession of the ball with about 15 seconds to play in round 21 2007. Geelong had come from 6-7 goals down against Port in a game of fairly little consequence.
We were leading by a point or so, playfair looks around like a deer in headlights and gets tackled, coughs it up and cassisi kicks a goal to win the game.

That loss interrupted streaks of 15, and 11 wins. If the deadshit just kicked the f***ing thing, we win 27 straight and 51 out of 53.

What if Tuddy hadn't knocked out McKenna in 1970. We were 7 goals up in time on in the second quarter when it happened, with McKenna already having 5 goals. Kicked one for the rest of the day, but can't remember it. None of this handball bullshit, that was the real turning point in the game.

What if Jim O'Dea didnt put John Greening into a coma. Greening becomes one of the absolute greats, is the difference in at least a couple of grand finals during the 70's for Collingwood.

What if Phil Carmen played in 77? Short and only answer, we win.

if lucas hadnt gone nuts in last quarter of rnd 22 in 07

- wc finish 2nd on % and host port instead of other way
- more then likely win and cousins not do hammy
- week off to freshen up then play north at home in prelim instead of extra time final and run out of legs
- play geelong in their 3rd grand final in a row and have judd fresher considering week off and light prelim vs north. grand final hardened team vs cats probably wouldnt of been 117

What if Gary snr had stayed at Hawthorn and become as good a player with us as he was with Geelong, and then we got jnr as a father/son?

Similarly what if you drafted Selwood instead of Thorp in 2006?
