Oh yeah and the Berlin Wall had now been down longer than it was up for........

the Berlin wall started construction in 1961 with modifications over the years it was finished about 1980, so technically you are right and wrong

Im 43 and woudlnt have an idea either. I would ask my wife.

I thought Cheques were a dead thing in Oz? Here it's regular you're at the supermarket and you think you've found the short line,,, its one 98 year old lady just buying some bread and cheese, and then she. pulls. out. the. CHEQUEBOOK! You can hear the collective sigh of everyone behind you, and you even catch the glimpses of the people in the aisles across and you see their sympathy.

Hell, I feel that way when someone ahead uses their credit card and enters in the pin. Takes ages. Cash is quicker!

I still use a chequebook for some big purchases.

I think the last time I used a personal cheque was my parents paying for something when I was at school, so at the latest 2001. Have never owned a cheque book, never will.

Have used bank cheques to buy cars and even that seemed a bit old fashioned.
Travellers cheques were a pain in the ass. You had to sign like thirty all at once, and the signature from the first cheque to the last was totally different.

It'll be twenty years since Dermot Morgan died on Wednesday.

It's bad when you're the worker too. Almost as bad as seeing a robber pull out a pistol, is the oldie with a chequebook

Yeah, and it's ******* ridiculous when people don't have an email address. FFS, get with the times.
I was trying to help a colleague (old bloke) set up some new online account and asked him to log into his emails to get the verification code. The man swore black and blue that his email address didn't have a password, despite me constantly telling him that's impossible. That was a long morning.

I remember using them. Last time I used a cheque. Were a pain. Don't know why I bothered. Were seen as in case you lost cash but if you lost travellers cheques overseas you are just as stuffed. (Although technically you don't use money).

Cash cards are easier but make me feel old as something always stuffs up with me setting them up, the PIN etc. Prefer cash when possible.

And that will be $200 + in your pocket in the morning.

Getting smashed and popping pills didn't really appeal to me in my 20's (well, the pills part anyway). I'd rather be old. Haha. Can afford nicer stuff to drink and hang out with people who aren't being complete idiots or will ditch you for a slim chance of picking up.
