My 5yo some how has Tear for Fears, Ram Jam, Midnight Oil, AC/DC to name a few amongst his more predictable Benson Boone and Doja Cat sections on his Ipad playlist. I still piss myself when he belts out Everybody Wants To Rule The World word perfect when he thinks no one can hear him. Very diverse tastes already. :tearsofjoy:
Doesn’t everybody ? 😍

Sneak some Cog and Tool onto his playlist to balance out the pallet .
Then throw in a smattering of Paul Kelly and early INXS to keep the Oz vibes real 😉

Thats me to a word. Too lazy to search for anything new so either turn to the old playlists or podcasts. I sort of lost all interest when the Hottest 100 went from my taste in music to the modern youth taste which I turn full old campaigner if I get started on
That’s the point. New music is not for you and never was. By new music I mean young music.

By design you are not meant to like it.

Because it’s all generated on a pc with the same beat and someone speaking words that they make rhyme

New good bands are few and fair between

Band camp has thrown me some good stuff this year tho

They are awesome
I wish I had seen them live when they were firing
Same .

I got into Cog . Children collide (seen them live),Karnivoll, black cab. All about the same time.
Cog a different beast to those guys.

It arrived here a couple of later and came at the perfect time for me, I loved the slapstick and my ears were starting to prick up to the political edge on it.
I’ll be in Australia in February, I would love to meet you and talk about slapstick political humour.

I’m sure we will have a good time.

both series released on a bluray set
i think it's coming jan for aust buyers.
it will be interesting to see what the quality will be like

"i hope you're happy Thatcher!"
Neil the bathroom's free unlike this country under the Thatcherite junta.

i was in the uk as a kid when it came out
can remember watching it with older family and thought the slapstick was brilliant, was prob a tad young to understand the politicalness about it at the time.
i wouldve seen both series easily in the dozens of times
i have the original book somewhere as well and must be stashed in a box as its not on the bookshelf

Didn’t think it was that old ?

I’m 53 and I don’t reckon I saw it till I was in my late teens , so mid - late 80’s . Could be wrong?

I Imagine it was first shown on ABC here ?
If it was I don’t reckon I would have missed it , was the only channel we had back then

I remember calling my brother a rubber Johnny because I heard it on the Young Ones without knowing what it meant.

I loved the line in Summer Holiday when Rik wanted to play Botticelli and Vyv suggested they played Jellybotti where you eat eighteen curries.
