I know people that will fly to Melb/Syd just to see a big name act if they aren't coming to Perth which basically turns it into a $1000+ exercise. Each to their own but seeing Taylor Swift at the MCG with 100,000 people dressed like teenage girls isn't on my bucket list. If it was a once in a lifetime thing like Queen at Wembley sure. But then I've flown to Melbourne just to watch WC lose Grand Finals so people who aren't into sports probably think that's dumb.
For a non perth person .
Why bands don't go there.?
Lack of crowds or too far away .

Rufus are closer to their prime than Metallica aged bands.
Rufus put on a good show they have more than enough songs for a set list.

Going next year.
I love Rufus and saw them a couple of years back (for only about $130, if I recall correctly); still think $200 is taking the piss.

That said, I paid $280 for Pearl Jam (plus flights, accommodation etc).

Logistics. Talking to a guy in that field the costs have apparently tripled since Covid plus you lose the time between Syd/Melb/Bris and Perth.

The shows that have come to Optus Stadium have all attracted huge crowds.

Too far away, too costly to bring the whole backstage crew. Adelaide pretty much in the same boat, see Green Day, Oasis. That said, we're still usually fourth in line behind Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Drove past Festival Hall this afternoon with my AgedCare helper on the way to my cardiologist appt at Melbourne Private. My mind wandered back to May 1977 when I saw Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons there. I was 25 and had no idea what a cardiologist was back then! Now she's just about my best friend.

Have noticed a lot of older men can't cook or doing washing etc.

Is it because their mum looked after them.
Then they knock up a woman get married at legal age.
Then wife does everything.

Seems to be a switch in time somewhere.
Where house duties are more shared .

They can go to SE Asia and fix that

I have an old school mate who basically still can't cook mainly because he's been indulged. His mum fed him growing, he lived on booze and takeaway in his 20s, I lived with him for a couple of years and did all the cooking, now his old lady does it all. It wouldn't be so bad but he's useless at washng up too.
