Say what you like about the coach.

Say what you like about the players.

Ultimately the control of this club rests with the board (elected by the AFL).

Yes you can have a footy committee to help you make decisions.

But ultimately it is the board that elects the footy committee, it is the board responsibility to replace them if they make the wrong decisions and in exceptional circumstances it is the board that should over rule them when it is clearly in the best interests of the club.

The board should have acted before finals last year and vetoed Ken's contract extension.

That should also have been a wake up call for them to make more than 1 change to the committee (Tredders).

They should have vetoed any contract extension clause that may now also need to be paid out.

And if the football committee lose their balls at the end of the season the board MUST come over the top of them.

The constant passing of the buck by Koch is piss weak. He is the figurehead of a weak club culture, led by weak people appointing weak people into positions of "leadership".

Tredders needs to fire his bullets both at the footy committee and the board. Both need to know in no uncertain terms that they are accountable for this train wreck.

Tredders might care about reshaping the on-field results, but I still feel the majority of the board will look at the 71,000 members and say that they're comfortable enough with that to not enforce real change (as if sacking Ken will make the memberships do DOWN?)

You can argue forever about member control and whether or not it would make enough of a difference, but the truth is the board already has a pretty self-automated system for profit at this stage and making a few changes to the board shouldn't be risking very much at all.

And in my opinion more importantly, its on the inability of supporters to democratically determine who sits on the board.
100%.

This needs to be Warrens priority asap.

It is far more important than who is coach in 2025.

The board takes the recommendation from its football committee. CD and Cassisi, in particular, need to be held accountable for this.
The board is responsible. You can't just keep passing the buck.

If the footy committee don't get results they need to be replaced or over ruled or both.

Sorry to spoil your party but the board are there to run a business first and foremost. They are hitting all their KPI's and will not budge from it. Footy is secondary to their objectives and with the increase in memberships year in year out, there is no logical reason for them to change anything.

We are stuck with this situation until all members wake up and vote with their money. It wont happen sadly as we are all to invested in this club one way or another. Members can cry all they like about the situation but nothing will happen going forward.

Their own KPIs were 3 flags in 5 years.

They are a ****ing mile off of hitting their KPIs.

Carr and Cornes are there and have a significant say on our gameplan.
We just need the best people who demand success instead of just wanting to making the community proud.

we are almost dead

Then, their KPIs are wrong.

As stated before, their "true" KPI's is not based on football. Its 100% financial and business growth, which we are doing perfectly fine in.

The talk about 3 flags in 5 years is just to keep the members paying up. Pretty annoyed that we are already getting renewal notices for 2025 because its all business, hey.

I dont think this is true and if it is then the board needs to be replaced.

Even if the business aspect is first and foremost, it doesn't absolve responsibility from the poor showings on the field. The business side of football and the football itself are two different objectives that while not mutually exclusive are borderlline that.

And on the side of business, I've never got a firm answer from the posters close to the club but it seems like it is easy to run a club nowadays. Millions upon millions of dollars flowing into the club and a good stadium deal makes it easy. Footy is a product everyone consumes. It runs itself.

But running a successful football club is very different. It is difficult and moreso with the losers involved at the club starting with the Four Frauds, David Koch, Ken Hinkley, Chris Davies and Matthew Richardson.

Board agendas these days are dominated by corporate governance, risk, financial performance, and regulatory compliance, plus a whole raft of ESG priorities like climate change, DEI, and RAPs. I'd be surprised if they talked football operations for more than 10% of the time.

Supporters are 99% invested in football operations and 1% on all the other stuff.

If they tick all of the other boxes while making finals 50% of the time, they are patting themselves on the back saying job well done.

I know this is a weird take but we kind of needed a performance like that for our culture to be questioned or generate change.
we have had many performances like this, you guessed it nothing was to change.

Maybe something finally will when the campaigner packs his bags
