This is one of the saddest days in my life

I feel awful amd angry at the moment. I've supported the club since its inception, been a member for many years, gone to games and family days, purchased merchandise and all that and i'm just heartbroken at the moment. I can't believe how a club could do that after the Carlton and Bulldogs scandels. I can't see the club surviving this and I can't see myself supporting them anymore. The NRL have made the correct call in the punnishment that they handed out.

The Storm are dead to me now as a result of the actions of the Storm Front Office. How can I support a team of criminals? I can't and I won't. I don't care that the Premierships have been taken off us, because its a just Punishment and one I would of called for if I was a fan of another club such Parramatta or Manly.

Manly and Parramatta should rightly feel robbed and so should the other clubs because they got beaten by a team of cheats. It is sicking to say that but it has to be said, the Storm WERE Cheats. We made our bed and now we can lie in it. Good on News Limited for accepting the penalties and good on whoever dobbed the club in. I rather see the penalties take place and crooks sacked and jailed, rather than this go on.

As for Brian Waldron, the rat MUST be sacked by the Rebels and MUST be banned from holding ANY Sporting Office in this Country ever again. Also he should be expecting a tap on the shoulder from NSW Police anytime soon.

Enjoy Prison Brian:mad:

But as for League, I'm done with the Storm. This is a darkday.

Truth be told is if the NRL gave the same concessions to the Storm as the AFL gave to the NRL city teams the Storm would not have been in breach. With the way that the Storm lose players (Kimorley, Orford, for example) due to the same reasons why no one wants to play for the Lions and Swans.

Look, I do not want to take this thread away from the real meaning, however, I do have to point out the stupidity of your last sentence.

What proof do you have that says, 'No one wants to play for the Lions or Swans'? According to the number of players from other clubs coming to both sides this year is another reaseon against your stupid post.

Shit attitude in my opinion.

The club can turn themselves around. As much as i hate Canterbury look what they have done over the last decade to become a decent club (though still canterbury). This is the time where supporters have to stay with a side if you genuinely want it to survive. Move forward with a better image become transparent in your dealings and make a fugging effort. It takes alot of work but is worth it.

Disappointed with some supporters saying they will not support the club. Im as angry as the next bloke, but this is a time when the supporters need to stick together. We need to clean out the club and bring in the best people possible to clean up the club and get it back on to its feet. Hopefully we can rebuild OUR club and move forward from this dark moment.

To those of us who have fought the good fight I think this has to go down as one of the worst days ever.

The years of hard work by so many people have just about been for nought.

To do what the Melbourne Storm club have done is a spit in the face to the people who have supported their existance and those who have given their all to Rugby league in this state.

Shame on them and shame on the people who have blatantly cheated the salary cap for so long. You have let down so many people.

Now just what the **** do I tell my 13 year old son?

Mate, just tell him what you said here.

If the club is to survive, the players will still need to still have the support of the Melboune sports fans.

Next time i come down to watch the tiges, if a storm game is on I will still go see it.

Be fair, there would be people who love the club and put their all into it without any knowledge of the rorting.

I feel sorry for the innocent parties within the club.

True. Some in the club wouldnt have had a clue. I feel sorry for them then. You put all that had work and now it shows for nothing.

QFT. Am feeling the same way. Have been fighting off tears all afternoon. The wonderful memories of Storm games, the awesome Grand Final last year, all mean nothing now. A team that honestly WAS starting to make Melbournians turn their heads. A team that was drawing bigger and bigger crowds.

A team that was run by criminals who knew what they were doing. They led me you & every other Melbourne Storm member & supporter on. The duped us into believe we WERE the best.

Personally I smell a rat here. News Limited want to pull out of rugby league this season & have a rugby union team coming in next season & all this stuff comes to the surface just now. Co-incidence? I think NOT!

I'm gutted.

But if News want to sell Storm or get out of RL, they would have swept this under the carpet.

I used to follow Parra, switched to Illawarra when they came in.

Do I go for Eels or Dragons this year?

But if the club loses supporter and corporate interest, which i expect will happen, it will struggle to exist as it is. This gives News an excuse to cut their losses & put all their funding into the Rebels.

This is pretty much what they did when they kicked out the Reds & Rams. They said the clubs "weren't viable" which in News Limited-speak means News Limited didn't want to foot the bill for both club any longer.
