sure was, he knocked the ball out, didn't hit the arms at all, just tarrent couldn't hold on. Tarrent had a shocker tonight so maybe they felt sorry for him. It could have been the sealer, luckily tarrent had other matters on his mind.

another nice 1%er was the play on call back in the goal square.

good try vlad, but your match fixing didn't work this time

you're an angry little man, aren't you?

Read the rules buddy.

Probably not the smartest move, you of all people saying that. However, to the letter of the law, the free kick was there. Eyes off the footy and once that happens even the slightest contact to the body in a marking contest will result in a free kick. Good thing it was the slightest contact as it was mostly fisting the ball away but contact nonetheless, free kick was there and if Basset had of just kept his eyes on the footy would've got an effective spoil and play on!

Doesn't stop it being a soft free kick and most of the time would've been play on but yes, it was there. Although only an Umpire looking for it would've found it.

All this whinging that Collingwood have the better deal with the umpires, then the Crows are handed the game. Watch your tape of the game watch particularly when Henschel marks, one holding the man for Collingwood left of the pack on Jason Cloke, and one right, so don't tell me about rough end of the stick.

You could tell the umps weren't going to give Adelaide the soft ones...sort of evened it up a bit, although Collingwood seemed favoured, overall it showed why the game is fairly cruddy......heaps of soft free kicks, many missed.....

btw- the deliberate Out of bounds was there, no pressure, kicked directly to the boundary, lowish kick......it was there BUT i don't agree with the rule the way it is interpreted.......SO many soft free kicks, what will become of the game.

you dont remember football in the 70's and 80's?

about 40 to 50 frees per side each game.

And while I'm at it, Bodes contact was only high because he ducked down into it. And Crows would have to be the clumsiest side in the comp from behind, your lucky there wasn't more free's against them.

The deliberate against Basset was fine

There was no reason for one of the fifties collingwood got

And Tarrant's free that was one of the softest things I have seen paid for a long while.

I see that Collingwood supporters were defending the bode decision, but I am sure that they will also say that Tarrant decision was fine :D

hehe

At my count it was 19 - 10 in favor of the pies. Last week they got about 10 more frees than the hawks too

Im sure its not favoritism, but gosh they can't complain about the umpires for at least a month. They have had a miracle run these last two weeks

I could laugh because i dont barrack for the crows, but the sight of the crows player lying on the ground with a magpie arm STILL around his neck, pointing the said arm out to the umpire and all of us tv viewers, was quite funny. ;)

Pretty much one way from the umps so far. A couple of soft 50, I lost count of how many in the backs, adelaide are getting ripped a new one. Is it just me, what do you think?

How much $$$ is collingwood earning the second chance in finals worth to the AFL?
What a load of tripe. All because you don't know the rules and don't give a **** about what your team does and complain about it when they are picked up on it.
You don't know the rules and you are a clown.

and the trend continues.... even though the pies lost, the were still in the game all night thanks to some very questionable calls. I was starting to wonder if clement had turkey slapped hird would he get a free. good move by sheedy to swap hird with someone thats a bit harder to push in the back

i feel sorry for whoever lines up against the pies in the first final. The AFL will make sure the pies win. A pies second final will earn a lot of $$$ for andy

Not that im too fussed about it for obvious reasons, but Tarrant not being called for holding the ball is the worst decision (or non-decision) I have seen in my life.

Not sure which was worseout of that or when one of the Johnsons won possesion and was running to goal, and had a free paid against him (and 50 mts) for high contact when it appeared from the replay that He (johnson) didn't even touch the collingwood player.

ben johsons free for a push in the back was so bad.

Then again, Monfries rode someone into the ground brokeback style, yet nothing was done...it was an embarrassing night for the umpires...they can top it off by giving Taz a b'low vote.

The Pies are the Umpires love child ...Clement should have been penalised in his first 3 marking contests , where he pushed Hird in the back with both hands ...oh well at least the maggotts kept the ferals competitive throughout the night
