Thoughts on Watters, his approach to season 2013, the rebuild and beyond

If I was to guess.

Scott's said close enough wasn't good enough.

Players who got close feel disrespected, cause they hang their hats on almost.

Since then, every little thing that happens, including fisher being told off, becomes ammo for said players.

Said players have said to the club "him or us"

Club evidently freaking, and leaning towards "us" not him

Am I close?

I'd actually be interested to know how bad it was behind scenes at Hawthorn when he was there. He's just a complete and utter control freak. Its basically his way or the highway (note Hutchinson/Nettlefold)

I asked the Bigfooty hawks board at the time, and they were glad to be rid of him

The supporters should march on linen house and lock the whole club in a room and tell them we wont let them leave till they sort this shit out. Grown up and get over yourselves you ****s.

Edit: Assuming there is anything to the rumors.

BTW Scott Watters hasnt been sacked as far as im told, and most likely wont be anytime soon. (unless something drastically changes in meantime obviously).

Out of interest, is it the board that reviews the position of head of football? If yes, why wasn't Pelchen sacked before Hutchison and Nettlefold left? Some serious questions must be asked.

So it would be better for the club to get rid of Watters?

IMO if pelican is so divisive in terms of the club how can we keep him?

At this point in time?.... Yes I think Pelchen is vastly more important to the club than Watters.

Who's word are we running off here anyway?

Isn't the supposed issue that Watters?

Why?

Pelchen gets a lot of false credit.

I read the other day the guy who got lake, Burgoyne, hale, guerra, Gibson....

Wasn't Pelchen

Well then the solution is simple...the Pelican must go....

But issue is so is SW, they are both control freaks. Its why the relationship just doesnt work.

No the supposed issue is that they don't see eye to eye. This was a supposed issue in Lyon's time, iirc as well. Apparently it was an issue at the Hawks. Do you see a pattern developing?

I'm not saying that anyone should be sacked, just that the calls from Finey and other media people specifically targeting Watters is somewhat narrow minded.

Just going off pure rumours and innuendo like most of us here but it seems like while Pelchan has experience and sound credentials, he can also destabilise the club when we really need a steady hand.

It sounds like Pelchen is very difficult to work with just like Ross Lyon was. Which is why so many assistants left every year. Now we have people in the inner sanctums leaving. Don't think it's all too bad but we will have to wait and see.

Wasn't Lyon a control freak as well?

Do we have to hire someone more submissive who won't question Pelchen's decisions?

To be honest, as a member of the club I am just sick of hearing about us for all the wrong reasons. Pelchen, Watters, senior players... whoever just WORK OUT YOUR PROBLEMS BEHIND CLOSED DOORS! Seriously, have they never heard of that great saying don't air your dirty laundry in public?
