what do u think about this kid??
has shown signs of becoming a really good backmen with scalps such as reiwoldt and o louchlin... hopefully can step up 2007 and be our number one backmen...to relieve pressure on gaspar and hall who are purely not up to it....

The problem with Will will be getting his pace back after the knee reco. I would have thought that while he will definitely be right by round 1, he may not get full confidence back / speed back until around mid season.

:) WILL take time to build his confidence. The problem I have with Thursfield is that not only did he end the season on the injury list in 2006, he did so after just a handful of appearances the previous year too! Hate to be a glass half empty sort of guy, but we need to face up to the reality that this guy may well be injury prone. So entrusting our faith in him to become our number one key defender may well be a tad premature at this stage. But the kid does have talent as his games against Riewoldt and O'Loughlin suggest! The potential is definitely there, but we need to be patient.:)

He will be able to do a full preseason...is already running and looking really good...the time off has allowed him to build up some upper body but the legs are still a bit skinny....talented kid but im not expecting big things from him....still very raw...great kid with a tremendous attitude though.

10-15 games and hopefully establish himself as a senior player by the end of the season. Anything more than that is a bonus.

I've heard from a couple of the players that he isn't coping to well with his knee and might not even be back for round one, which might be a good thing, he is still a very young player and has a ton of talent so we wouldn't want to rush him back to early which could cause more injuries to him ie: Hamstring etc.

I hope he can make it back for round one but if not don't go bashing the boards asking for TW to put him in the side.

If we could trade to get a KPP backmen then it would help ease the pressure off him massivly until he can come back at full strength.

I heard the oppostite from Cogs. Said Will was doing very well and would most likely be able to do a full pre season.

Well I've heard what I said from Tom Roach, so I dunno who is true there.

good mates with kane johnsons cousin...and also mates ith patto.... thursfield apparently is going really well....should be able to do full pre season and is knockin on the door for round 1 selection

He was a rookie pick up who is comming back from a horribile knee injury.

He showed a little bit.. but expectations of this kid are far too high.

Remember when Jackson was the new Voss..

I choose to believe limbach_19, not because its positive but because minime seems to get off on fabricating bs rumours every second day.

What the hell are you talking about???
I got that info from Thomas Roach of the Richmond Football Club.
