Why are the actual prices artificially low levels? The only people who would lose money if fewer tickets were allocated to non-GF team supporters are non-GF team supporters who were going to sell their tickets. The only people who miss seeing the game are non-GF team supporters, with their tickets instead going to supporters of the competing clubs.

Anyway, I wasn't intending to spend an evening arguing the point. All I'm saying is that supporters of the two clubs should have a much larger proportion of the ticket allocation (whether club members or holding another priority membership type).

You are talking rubbish. These AFL , MCC and specialty members have been paying way more than a standard member for many years and are financially supporting the game at a higher premium. Of course they deserve priority. Plus in The AFL MEMBERS you nominate your club of support and in the GF you get priority over other members if your team is competing. Richmond and Adelaide AFL members got priority today.

Paid $1400 just after the Qualifying Final.. took a chance. And I'm on level 4.

In the end I wouldn't even had a shot with a Silver AFL Membership, even though I've been a Richmond member for 19 years. I guess everyone is different, but I have to be there.

If I'd been allocated a seat I'd have happily downgraded to standing room.

Hey guys so i was fortunate enough as a friend of mine who is an AFL member got me the golden ticket to the g on saturday. Just wondering if MCG staff will be strict on how i got my ticket, as in will they force me to show them I.D, membership card etc. Like has anyone heard or experiences people being kicked out as they coudln't provide I.D

They were checking AFL memberships outside the gate yesterday....Just something to think about for AFL members selling tickets you would be risking your memberships and those buying them who would be risking being turned away at the gate....
FYI I have had my membership checked once before. Chances of being stopped are low due to the volume of people but not impossible
