Why do people still queue overnight for finals tickets? They just showed 10 or so already at Whitten Oval. Keen as mustard.

These people haven't heard of the internet?

Older generation generally don't like technology use.

All part of the fun & excitement (in the olden days anyway, lol!)

I remember back in 97, you could buy a 'season' ticket which from memory got you a game per week, but not the GF. I remember it being a good option because it was the lower drawing teams that were the allocated games. It was always us. Anyone know if this still exists?

They still have series tickets. Each club gets 500 or 1,000 and they use them however they want. Dogs v Crows designated the Series Ticket match which will bump up attendance by a few thousands.

It sounds similar to AFL Membership - 40 Melbourne home and away games of your choice, and access to any Melbourne final (plus cricket games). But I'm sure that was also around in 1997 - maybe it just changed its allocation system?

Yes up to 8 tickets per member.
Just for confirmation, does that mean that, as a member, I can purchase additonal tickets for non-members at 9:00 Monday? Or does that mean I can only purchase additional tickes for members during that window?

You can purchase up to 8 tickets using one barcode from 9am - 1pm. They will be seated together. Who uses those tickets is your choice

I can understand it. My dad prefers to go in. You seem to get more flexibility with a person. Online it seems to plonk you into the "best available" seat but when I've gone in the person doing it for you seems to be able to bend some rules. Also, I've had plenty of issues with ticketing websites when everyone is trying to load them at the same time.

At Domain Stadium it is restricted

But we should be able to buy extras, subject to capacity or something. I imagine there would be restrictions for Richmond Norf though with Richmond likely to rock up, would say 80-85k will go to that

Yeah, I think Tiges and Roos can buy two per membership for their game.

Finals is where AFL membership pays off! I highly recommend it especially as we'll hopefully be playing in a few in the next decade.

$18 for a great seat on the Southern Stand wing.

$18?? where are those seats!!??

I'm an AFL member but I know people who buy the cheapest tickets (Cat 7) and once in the ground, move up to a better area - this works quite well at matches that are not at capacity. Especially the top deck - buy back row seats and sit near the front - the front half is usually empty as people buy Cat 7 tickets over Cat 5 or Cat 6.
