Due to an amazing sporting gene {wife's side} I have to come over for my daughter's sport I snuck on yesterday and grabbed a ticket on the Hill. Is the Hill in front of the scoreboard or the southern grassed area?

Going with a workmate who is one eyed Port and angry -could be interesting.

The atmosphere on this day will be something to behold. It will surely go down as the biggest occasion in the history of South Australian sport, with so much historical and cultural significance, not to mention season-shaping for both clubs. The bragging rights will mean so much this time, and the game looks so important in the context of both sides' seasons. On one hand, Port Adelaide is closing in on its second permiership, with a top 4 list and a chance to permanently stain the record of its big brother at Adelaide's stadium. On the other hand, the biggest sporting entity in the state (not lacking list talent itself) is coming off a horror year, but comes here with record membership and a chance to establish brand dominance at a new stadium.

This is a once-only opportunity to open a chapter both in Showdown and South Australian football history. This is the definition of a big game. We never win these. We must win this one.

Malcolm Blight and I would be just as happy to win the Geelong match and lose the showdown compared to losing at Geelong and winning the showdown.

I'd be happy to win one of the first 2 matches either way.

Historically since our GF wins, we choked consistently and reliably.

Although that Final Showdown win - has to rate as the second best win for all the Showdown victories and importance, we booted the Power out of the finals series.

I would rather the Showdown win, need to win all our home games and win some away. We will be better placed IMO to win an away game during the season as players return.

In front of the scoreboard. No southern hill anymore

It's a disgrace.

**** the AFL, they're too busy trying to protect drug cheats.

FFS I am shitty that the game is not on Friday evening.

Imagine showcasing to the entire country and viewers around the world our new stadium.

For what so businesses can profit around the CBD??????

What is more important is the "Adelaide brand"!!!! Could have used this as a marketing tool and a tourism bonanza

We could have organized an awesome fireworks display, get a band to play before the game and really make the country envy our state.

I am not talking about every match, just the first one only.

So anyone here sitting, or know of anyone, sitting in the Black Diamond area for the Showdown? My Port-supporting Fiance can't make it anymore so I'll be going with another Crows supporter. I'm really hoping we're not the only Crowies there haha:oops:.

There will be a few Crows in their Black Diamond area, but most of the tickets went in their members presale, but would have been unaffordable for most at $90.00 a seat. (Maybe you get a helmet & Flak jacket included with your ticket, if your a Crows supporter or 'Cows' supporter as most of them call us)

Got my ticket standing on the hill. Would have liked a seat and may have got one if Internet Explorer at work didn't be so shit that I had to find another computer.

How the hell can Port supporters afford Black Diamond memberships. Maybe Kochie has bought them all for his Sunrise cronies. :D

Do you have 4g on your phone? Would have been better using that!

I got on at 9am, by about 9.08am I got my seats fortunately (I entered cc details wrong).

When I completed my transaction there was no more seats available.

Even at 9am there was only silver tickets available.

The POWER cheated by not releasing more gold/platinum/diamond tickets. On their website there is clearly more tickets available with seating after 9.08am.

I was on at 9.03am and then IE ****ed up, took me about 5mins to get a laptop logged on and ticketmaster up. Doesn't really bother me though that I have to stand, gotta experience it at some stage ;)

Standing is fine, but I am not sure for a Power home game? Could get unbearable, there is a stronger feral element about them.

No one is perfect!;):thumbsu:

It wont be the last mistake you make but like all the rest, none of us infallible.

Maybe a mod in particular may think he is though.

Well I have been around this site for 14 years. I am not easily offended. Here's hoping its a great Crows victory. Pretty sure we can agree on that! :D

Could actually be an advantage...if you get a real feral one along side you, at least you can move!

I get the feeling that the seats I have in the Southern end will be amongst Crows supporters.

f
If you are row W or above you will be with mostly Crows people, as this is their general admission area (non ticketed) for all other games

Is it unfair that Port have four extra days than us to prepare for this match?
I feel this is a complete non-issue in this instance, potentially even an advantage.

They could get rusty.

We hear players like playing early in the round so they aren't sitting around thinking about the game etc. Port will have 4 extra days of a Showdown week.

I'd probably swap, especially with our injuries but it could go either way as far as weather it will be a negative or a positive.
