Usually this place goes in cycles, goes down then back up again, but its been on the down way longer this time around.

I think unless something drastic changes, the SFA is on its last legs. 5-10 seasons time and itll be back at Season 1 levels.

I don't personally believe its anyones fault, or because anyones soft, we are just struggling to get new people in. A lot of it is to do with the fact that the type of peope (especially younger people) who are likely to be interested in something like the SFA don't tend to join older forum style formats like Bigfooty, they are on platforms like reddit or discord.

Its time is certainly coming imo. SFA has been around for 20+ years, and for a niche little footy game like this that is pretty bloody good.

ROUND 10

Three things I learnt this week...​

1. Everyone's a smartarse when they find a loophole.
2. Naughty captains who step out of line can expect a tersely worded PM from City Hall courtesy of 'Not angry, just disappointed father figure' Elton Johns Wig & his tough talking deputy sheriff ClarkeM. omgfridge may never recover.
3. In true Sweet FA milestone fashion, the Gumbies' celebration of beez & GWS Goose was soured by a loss to the cellar dwellers at Coney Island. But at least they can console themselves with the knowledge that they stuck fat for 150 odd games (or 4 years in sexually active people's parlance) of extreme boredom to win a fake premiership in an online fantasy football competition. Well done fellas.

1. The OOBs and Wonders are sibs from other mums. It is odd the OOBs as a Jonny come lately get the joint more than the Snow Bunnies.
2. The 8 looks close to settled.
3. Imagine wasting chunks of your life playing for and sometimes captaining a fantasy Qooty team with no history of success. And then bunging tosh on the deserved premiership winner from last season.

1. miggs will be sorely missed. Rest easy, big fella.
2. 200 games up for one of the modern greats, Barrybran this week. Surely the next celebration will be a well deserved HOF induction. Better CV than okeydoke7 and now has that elusive premiership under the belt.
3. Death, taxes and the Wazzas beating the Hawks.

1) Blacula is a 1972 American blaxploitation vampire horror film directed by William Crain. It stars William Marshall in the title role about an 18th-century African prince named Mamuwalde, who is turned into a vampire (and later locked in a coffin) by Count Dracula in the Count's castle in Transylvania in the year 1780 after Dracula refuses to help Mamuwalde suppress the slave trade.

2) Blacula received mixed reviews on its initial release. Variety gave the film a positive review praising the screenplay, music and acting by William Marshall. The Chicago Reader praised the film, writing that it would leave its audience more satisfied than many other "post-Lugosi efforts". Gene Siskel of the Chicago Tribune awarded three stars out of four, calling it "well-made and quite frightening." A review from Roger Greenspun in The New York Times was negative, stating that anyone who "goes to a vampire movie expecting sense is in serious trouble, and "Blacula" offers less sense than most." In Films & Filming, a reviewer referred to the film as "totally unconvincing on every level". The Monthly Film Bulletin described the film as "a disappointing model for what promised to be an exciting new genre, the black horror film." and that apart from the introductory scene, "the film conspicuously fails to pick up on any of its theme's more interesting possibilities–cinematic or philosophical." The film was awarded the Best Horror Film title at the first Saturn Awards.

3) The box office success of Blacula sparked a wave of other Black-themed horror films. A sequel to the film titled Scream Blacula Scream was released in 1973 by American International. The film also stars William Marshall in the title role along with actress Pam Grier. American International was also planning a follow-up film titled Blackenstein, but chose to focus on Scream Blacula Scream instead. Blackenstein was eventually produced by Exclusive International Pictures. In a 2004 episode of The Simpsons, Homer, Marge and Lisa watch part of a film called "Blacula Meets Black Dracula" that had fun with this central idea; after the two leads drain an evil businessman who plans to tear down their favorite disco to make way for a hockey rink, Homer says affectionately "You know, Black Dracula is now a Congressman from Virginia."
