March said Richmond would soon have arguably the best facilities of any Victorian club, with the addition of its Craigieburn facility, and had football department spending to match any rival. from the Herald Sun.

If we are getting that much money then wheres it going to?? are we spending this properly for player development and recruiting etc etc

well by u saying that, were at least another 5-6 years away from being any sort of challenge
f*k me
Not true, other clubs have much larger debt than us (i.e. Dog's) yet they are top 4. Debt does not mean you cannot spend, we just pay interest on it. We could spend say 600k on our footy department next year and pay say 400k on our debt.

If the board continues to run with such success we will eventually erradicate the debt we have and become a powerhouse of the comp. On field success will help ALOT is achieving this.

Doesnt the article say that we can spend as much money on the Footy dept to rival any club, I think thats what is going to happen.
Appoint a first year coach, and share money across the footy dept, extra assistant coaches, development coaches, recruiting etc

what we should do is the save the money on the coach spend 350k instead of 650k and redirect every cent we have on have the best recruiting network and development staff in the afl

agree with this.. this area definately needs to be addressed because it just feels we r so far behind the rest of the competition

Spend more on the footy dept, definately!

But don't forget that times are tough, so it would be prudent to put a fair bit of it aside to pay off debt in case the economy stays down for an extended time (quite possible, some would say likely) and sponsorship dries up.

I'd be happy with a 50:50 split.

I agree on spending more on the footy department, but it shouldn't be at the expense of getting a bargan basement coach like Geishen. Actually, we probably wouldn't even get someone that poor for $350K.
