Chris Scott's posturing was interesting. The info about the toxic relationship between Geelong and West Coast has proven to be right, and laid bare by Chris Scott. Some people may disagree, but I would say it is Geelong who has acted in bad faith and eroding the relationship.

He has preempted any negotiation with WCE by stating that he doesn't believe a trade can be done. I wonder if Tim would have been put off from the veiled threat of having to go through the draft.

. I think they feel that if they lose TK, they may slide out of contention while they turn over their list and this is their last gasp.

How could it be Geelong when west coast refused to do anything? Geel mkt valuation has proven correct. Geel shifted from its stated position of a top 10 pick. Truth is WC have never truly rated him hence why they never picked him up. Am not surprised, Weagles have allot of really good players.

It is incredibly bad faith....They need to accept that he wants to go home & look to find a way to help facilitate the inevitable.....There's simply no point crying over spilt milk, but such is the way of Chris Scott, Le grande sook!

I can appreciate that he's looking to maximise the clubs return, but he's going about this in completely the wrong way.

Except TK wants to stay. It’s his missus who wants to go home.

If that was the case we wouldn't have bothered with trying to trade with you at all, let alone be at the door of the person who approves trades just before the deadline.

We clearly tried which I am not even sure why when you look back at the HS article about it as it seemed we did all the work and were willing to take unders when you refused to trade up.

Their fans are delusional. We actually offer them TK for x3 2nd rd picks. But Eagles said no because "Geelong weren't serious"..

Why wouldn't Eagles just say yes and accept the trade? That is the very defintiion of delusion.

Why wouldn't you just say yes and accept the trade then?

I don't even know why we entrained that trade offer, it was a joke at the time and now which I am sure we can all agree is one top 15 pick along with other lesser picks.

and we'll keep doing this until he's a free agent or walks into the draft. It's not your player to expect or demand

We aren't demanding anything. He is requesting a trade as it appears he doesn't want to be at Geelong (with good reason).

When a player requests a trade a club is support to try and facilitate the player trade with the nominated club. Geelong didn't do that in good faith last year, and obviously has no intention of doing it this year.

I haven't seen anyone say Adelaide looked after you

They made you pay a fair price

A price coincidentally which is something around what WC fans are saying is fair for Kelly

Ah ok so West coast fans say pick 9 is fair. Ok how are WC going to procure a top 10 pick?

I wouldn't have though pick 9 is fair - undersells kelly. 9 + something else

Pick 9 was overs last year - rookie player with mid range talent

this year he has excelled and is worth considerably more

Personally - the biggest hindrance is our salary cap - not finding a reasonable trade deal

Was it tongue in cheek? It seems like the sort of thing Chris Scott wouldn't normally comment on at this stage

Robbo said it. Scott responded. There’s nothing wrong with what he said in that instance. They really rate Kelly so what they wanted last year has just increased, hence the doubt on a deal with WC.

Which is fair. He ll win the Carji Greeves medal. The stakes have gone up. Geelong would be stupid to accept the same or less deal from last year. It’s different now.

So Scott demands 4 first rounders and Dustin Martin. Could he look even more like a flog?

A player out of contract, with a desire to return home for strong and legit family reasons, and he goes on tv to say that? Wow.

That’s not quite true though. He didn’t just want to return to WA or he would have nominated Freo as well.

Maybe he just wanted it all and thought he could get it. AFL/Home town/Premiership side. Not the first time Martin Skreli has crossed my mind.

West Coast offered a good future to him after meeting last year. Asks wife if ok to use her as an excuse to escape prior commitments to Geelong and here we are. All the desires of money/home/future premiership added up to him. He's not homesick and he just wanted to upgrade to the dream package.

Players like Dangerfield waited 8 years for that privilege.

This is next level conspiracy theory thinking. You think that WC asked TK to use his wife and child with special needs as an excuse to get to West Coast?

Oh boy, we are in crazy town now.

Got a example?

We regularly let players go for unders if they chose to leave the club, we have always done that and have no issue doing that.

Obviously we will be less willing to take such unders with a player of Kelly's calibre.

We have had no issues trading before and I suspect a trade will be done for Kelly as well, just a bit of talk.

Geelong's bigger problem was paying overs for the likes of Zach Tuohy and Lachie Henderson in the past 4/5 years, Carlton got very good value from the the picks We got from Geelong in those deals

So when a Victorian player returns home, are they able to choose their destination or should the club select one of the ten clubs available without them having a say?

Should Ablett have chosen Hawks/Saints/tigers/pies etc to help gold coast out? Melbourne is only an hour away from his family right?
