Etiquette schmettiquette. You're on Tinder, obviously looking to talk to people...so talk.
I'm sure it gets old for the fellas having to try to initiate conversation all the time, it may work in your favour.

Yeah, exactly right.

You're there for a reason. So is the other person. You matched. So talk.

Im thinking that doesnt exist in perth... what is a "deb" ball?

It's an event they hold in high school, I think it's usually year 11. Boys and girls pair up (they organise it themselves and if you don't have a partner - or don't want a partner - you don't participate) do dance practice and then they have the ball at an appropriate location, with the participants getting all dressed up, heading there in a limo, parents/family/friends getting tables and the kids ultimately going to a massive piss-up after-party.

And, yep, it looks like a deb ball dress.

It seems ridiculous that any female on there would think like that. I haven't done the Tinder thing, but have tried other online sites. If I did that again, one thing that I would do is a top 10 power rankings at the end of every week, as it is constantly changing, mainly based on the communication and how interested/interesting they seem. Girls are seriously just going to tread water and hope that a guy that they really like will continually makes the first move?? Online dating is pretty much the embodiment of 'plenty more fish in the sea'.

I did actually have an experience like that with a girl that was attractive, obviously intelligent, great sense of humour and genuinely funny messages, good job, similar interests in social activities and what we liked to do to keep fit. The issue was that I'd already met a girl and been on a few dates with her and I just liked her a little bit more, so my philosophy was that I was just going to run the string out on the others, only go on dates that I'd already kind of committed to, straight bat everything else unless someone absolutely blew me away etc., until we were 'official'. And this girl was doing the same 'play it cool' routine, until the free contact period was running out and she finally sent me her number and I told her the full situation and she responded by saying she was hoping that I'd send her my phone number and that she was a bit old fashioned in that regard. And the reason you do things like that is that you can be pretty sure, but the vast majority of times, you're not certain until you're certain and so more fool you, if you don't keep your options open. And you're probably kidding yourself if you think the other parties aren't doing the same.

If you're starting to do the direct communication thing, I would suggest that you'd be well advised to treat it as though you're their second or third preference and that there is still work to do.

Anyone on here using Bumble?

Pretty much the same as Tinder (as comes from one of their co-founders), but the girls you match with have to send the first message within 24 hours, or the match is lost. Girls have to message first, that's the difference with Tinder.

Just signed up, and wow, there are some seriously hot girls on there!

Definitely not even close to the number of users as Tinder as I'm guessing a lot of people haven't heard of it yet... Probably went through about 30-40 girls before it dried up. Seems to be fairly large in the US already (has been out just over a year).

Will be interesting to see how long it takes to match with someone given not many guys would be on there either.

How long have you been using it?

Less than an hour! Just got my first match, so now I have 24 hours to wait for a response, or I can extend it another 24 hours if I'm getting desperate... Only allowed one of those extensions a day though.

Appears to be a Port supporter...

From reading a few reddit threads, girls seem to reply at the last possible moment when they actually realise something needs to be sent, regardless if it's just a shitty 'Hey'.

Keep me updated with how you go. First few girls I've had a swipe through have been :thumbsu:

Had another match now, but still no replies. Will be interested to see how many girls actually respond given it's on them.

Yeah definitely, keep us updated. Swiped through everyone in Melbourne thus far. Probably 125 girls I would estimate.

You fickle bitch

If you introduce me to a dating app I will love you equally. Or more. If it's good.

Just got on Bumble too. Fuark the vast majority of these birds are heavenly blessed beauties. Of course if they'll match with me is a whole different bag of cheetos.

Is Bumble a bit glitchy? I've been on it for 15 minutes and I swear I've swiped this girl left at least 3 times. She just keeps coming back like herpes.
