You will never get anywhere with this attitude! Seriously you think its better to loss a player and get nothing then so called strengthen ours .... if you are serious you will not even bother wasting the time and energy on worrying about any of your competitors lists and do what is best for your list and that surely is to secure the best deal you can

Its safe to say thankfully for the Adelaide Football Club you are not involved in any decision making because you would send them backwards very quickly with your attitude.
we'll see, i don't think Kurt Tippett will ever play a game for Sydney but i may be proven wrong

Short memories on here...................have you forgotten Luke Ball mate?

How about Jolly who wanted to go back to Victoria but somehow would only go to Collingwood.
Last time I looked, those two are the ONLY reason you won your flag.

You make me laugh!
we gave up pick 14 for jolly and you got jetta?

Ball wasnt considered as best 22 by ross lyon , but they wanted higher than pick 30 ?

when we were going to give them pick 21 for a player that was in and out of the team and was on the outs with the coach , you seem a bit touchy lol

You guys gotta remember that the salary cap expands again soon and when it does Tippet's big deal won't look so big anymore in comparison to others.

Best deal for Sydney........let him slide to the PSD and let someone else have him.
Not worth the reported 800K........but I guess you do have that much extra in your cap

I do laugh everyone thinks we need to use our "extra cap" seeing as our team is so packed full of superstars.
I'm guessing Franklin, Rioli, Mitchell are all on 300k a year each?

If Sydney have offered KT as much money as has been speculated, do you really think they're just going to let him go to another club via the PSD? I'd say offering someone a 4-year, approx $1m a year contract indicates some degree of desire to have the player at the Swans? No?
I'll pay the want to have him at the club, but they're not about to be screwed for cash by KT and then give up a significant part of the system that would make him effective. Parker is already best 22 and when we lose JBolts and ROK which will happen either this year or next, he is easily starting 18. Grundy and Jesse White are the only players I can see who would be willing to go and our best draft pick is 22. Also, for those of you who are saying that you'd rather get nothing than strengthen Sydney, keep in mind that the club have to sell every part of this trade to the players and if they don't at least look fair and reasonable then they can lose a lot of standing with the cattle that they wanna keep on the paddock and that will not be good.

Twitter suggesting we've been confident of getting him for months now.

As long as we don't have to trade any key players I'm very happy. Having another avenue to goal has really been our biggest question mark and this should put us in a good position in 2013.

You realise there is a difference between "extra salary cap" and "cost of living allowance". In recent years there's been seasons we've struggled to get over the minimum % we have to pay.

I didn't, please explain it...

i don't think Kurt has too many friends left amongst the playing group after this

Have they said it or not? I'm not having a go at you, I just want to be clear on this.

"Blucher scoffed at suggestions that Tippett has a clause in his contract that allows him to be traded for just a second-round draft pick in return.

But he reiterated his view that the Crows were honour-bound to get his client to the Swans following discussions between the two parties when he signed his last contract with Adelaide in 2009.

Adelaide management has remained tight-lipped on the gentlemen's agreement, but it was reported in The Advertiser that the agreement was based on Tippett's desire to return home to Queensland and would not be honoured if he chose to go elsewhere."

That's what a lot of people forget. By the end of this deal the cap will be quite a bit bigger than it is now. 800k won't be money reserved for the best of the best like it was recently. Once upon a time 500k or even less was silly money for the biggest of stars. Now it's middle class.

Across the life of the deal, 800k a year is not as much as people think.

Seems to indicate that whatever the clause is, returning to Queensland isn't one of the conditions.

honour bound won't mean jack after the ridiculous way tippett has acted, there is clearly no contractual term that would force them to cooperate that would apply to Sydney.
I have nothing against Sydney but if you honestly think this is going to miraculously work out brilliantly for you then i don't know what to say, Sydney have to come up with a decent trade with the Crows or they won't get him. Personally i suspect they'd be better off without him but clearly the Sydney management disagrees

According to Bernie Vince, barely anybody on the team responded to his pathetic group text message, and said the boys can't wait to play AGAINST him next year (Talia will be licking his lips in anticipation). That would suggest to me they don't particularly give a shit about Kurt anymore.

Aside from that, they have come out and backed people like Jenkins and McKernan to grab the now existing opportunity in the forward line with both hands.

Taking a fringe player and an incredibly speculative pick who won't do anything for the team for at least 2-3 years anyway, doesn't seem to be worth strengthening a premiership rival. If a proper deal can be sorted, I'm sure we'll take it. If Sydney decide to throw up players like Jesse White, I think the AFC will tell them to bugger off.

It's kinda he said she said. Crows said it only applied to a go home trade, Tippetts manager says it applies to wherever Tips wants to go.

Yeah, you're dead right. And to be frank, unless it's in whatever contract was written up, it means nothing, certainly with the way he's left the club.
