While thinking about Carlton what we should be doing is getting in their ear about a trade for gibbs then throw that back at sydney. get this done or to Carlton with you.
Your best bet of getting a reasonable result is Sydney.

What type of a sign would that be to start negotiating with others whilst this deal is progressing. Both clubs have said they believe a deal can be done. So that would mean adelaide believe Sydney can achieve their needs.

We may not understand how, but then we have almost no information.

I would suggest that you wait and see where this goes before you start shafting the most likely club to give you what you want.

I think GC are genuinely out of the race, unless he falls into their laps via the PSD.

Brisbane are out of the race for now - while negotiations continue between Adelaide & Sydney. You can bet your bottom dollar they'd be talking to Adelaide within seconds if Sydney & Adelaide failed to reach an agreement. There's no way on earth that they'd let him slide by them if he were available in the PSD.

In general your comment about the seller having strength while the player is contracted, and the buyer when they're not, is true - but the buyer's strength is significantly diminished when they have no alternative means of obtaining the player (because their PSD pick is just waaaay too late in the peace).

Nowhere have I said that Adelaide would re-draft him. That's just flat out not going to happen, because of the detrimental effect it would have on the rest of our playing list. We're not Crazy Vossy style operators.

The point the Brisbane list manager (can't think of his name) was making, was that they have moved on from Tippett and allocated the cap space to Moloney and potentially a Dawes or the like- I don't know that they would have the cap space to take Tippett now.

Would GC have the cap and list space, doubt it, but not sure?

Fair point re- Adelaide not re- drafting, I was responding to other posts that Adelaide could take Tippett in the PSD

Carlton would depend who they pick up in this year's trade period, but talk is they are offloading Warnock so maybe? Again would they want to give 4 years on big money to a player that doesn't want to go to Melbourne?

You could argue both ways as to who holds the power in this trade, but Adelaide would be unlikely to do a "Choco" and give up Tippett for nothing

Few Carlton Rumours going around.

Carlton - Tippett, 19
Adelaide - Gibbs, 14

Prefer this.

Swans keep list, Crows get their outside runner and Blues get their wanted KPF.

Now someone give Tippett another concussion so he agrees.

Let me guess? Gary Rohan is now off the table as well.

Come on Sydney - straight deal Matt Spangher for Kurt Tippett?

This deal too too good to turn down and we're still coming out with overs.

Well goodness me that's a change of tone. Didn't i just read a post of yours on the Sydney board ....something about bringing lube?

Hmmm....now we get a ....oh dont be so hasty boys, it wouldn't be very nice to run off and talk to others.

You really have polluted our board long enough. Really....go away and mind yout own business

Where did this deal come from?

MM won't trade Gibbs for Tippett?

Surly pick 11 would be first and then they would say - no, PSD it is. Carlton are less user friendly than windows 7

North Melb have pick 14? Carlton have pick 11. How does pick 14 come into it?

Ok

Do I sense just a slight sniff of anxiety? ;)

The joker in this pack is surely Carlton. They have the money, the space, the need and have publicly expressed the desire for tippett. If Kurt and Ireland think they will fall past Carlton I think they would be mistaken. There will be a big blue bus come past and when it stops the door will open....mick malthouse will be driving and will simply say....get in son.
Anything can happen...
But really, this sort of thing won't, because it's not just list space that needs to be kept back, it's big bucks.
They may have the money now, but after Trade Period the only way top up the list is through the draft, and even first round draftees are relatively cheap. Carlton (or any Club) can't afford not to use that % of their cap just on the off-chance Tippett might fall to them.

So Carlton, Brisbane, Sydney, GC and anyone else who fancies Tippett are all going through the Trade Period planning to NOT spend $3million plus of their cap over the next 4 years in case Tippett is available? If AFC does a deal with any club at the last minute Clubs which miss out won't be able to use that money to improve their list, trading will be over, and the money won't make any difference to their drafting.

The same risk, and their rep for fair trading, is also the reason Sydney are going to try to come to terms with Adelaide.

Whose this?

Wash your mouth our Faith? How could you not know.

He is a superstar, crem della crem of Aussie Rules footballers and we should be honored that Sydney allow us the change to trade for him. This deal should have gone through at 9:01 Monday morning.

We should put together some money and start up a team in Tasmania called the Tasmanian Tippetts and trade Kurt to them.

They can pick up Joel as well with their first pick.

There's some pretty good beaches in Tasmania!!
And then they could keep it in the family... sorry, low blow. ;)

Seriously have never seen him play :p

No anxiety here.

Everyone here keeps trying to work out who has the most power here, Sydney or Adelaide.

The answer is Tippett. He can decide to accept or reject any offer. So he can screw us all.

If he wants to go to the blues you just need to ask him. If he decides Brisbane then they will find room for him. He probably holds 3 of the four aces.
