Hmm I'm hoping the 14K a day on lawyers is being spent getting ready to sue the AGE and the HUN for defamation...if this all proves to be a witch hunt. Still think we will cop a whack...maybe not a big as everyone in Vic was hoping for.

I agree Anderson is a dick, a silly and a poor administrator who has stuffed the rules and now setting his sights on player payments as well.

Is Tippett going to be able to actually nominate for the PSD if we can't (or won't) delist him before the December enquiry?

You seem to be putting an awful lot of trust in them when it suits you... just like any supporter of a club does.
I fail to see how Adelaide getting punished suits me. Apart from moving up a spot in the draft, but that was tongue in cheek as it will have little effect in reality. I am generally far more cynical about the media as a whole, but there are some I trust. I was merely pointing out some hypocrisy.

I wonder if this is a fracturing of our united, one voice: we didn't do it (much) defense?

Instead of everyone being on one hymn sheet, now we're going everyman for themselves?

Or perhaps we've found our scapegoat and are cutting him adrift so we can blame it all in that direction?

Big shift in approach

I don't read too much into this Sanders, the individuals have been charged so it is normal for each to have their own representation.

My point is draft tampering is ripe and it comes in many forms and will continue in the future and my issue is with the AFL as it picks and chooses which form of tampering is acceptable and which form needs to be punished
Is there written evidence for all of these instances of draft tampering?

That seems to be the difference with Tippettgate...

Probably the best article on the issue in a while.

I think we have to be careful and not get too ahead of ourselves. We still have a mammoth task ahead of us and fight on our hands. You don't hire 4 gun QC's for misdemeanours. However, I do think it is possibly our message to the AFL that we will not take it lightly (actually going against our initial "we'll accept whatever punishment you dish to us"), that we will fight the appalling handling of this - particularly the leaks from AFL House that has all but created a witch hunt for our Club by the (particularly Victorian) media, as well as a level playing field - same conditions for ALL clubs. You can't be about to hang draw and quarter US over what appear to be technical issues with 3rd party payments - a system that lacks any clarity or consistency - and have other issues (Judd and now Selwood) clouding the horizon.

WOW Arming up with 4 well respected silks

The AFl and Team Tippett better be ready and well prepared
Well prepared?

With the benefit of hindsight it may have been wise for the Crows to get the lawyers involved before they were interviewed and before their mea culpas and before they offered themselves up to the league for punishment.

The Crows' stance smacks of an astonishing naivete and/or ignorance. Now they've got to try to get the genie back in the bottle.

You really are a dill.

As I said before in a previous post:

Its possible/likely as Edwardson did his first briefing, he recommended separate counsel for all parties. So that's what has happened. Straight forward and nothing unusual here. Edwardson to represent the club would be my guess? Plenty of good operators around... so will be interesting to see who else bobs up.

Now shoo... go away...

see an amnesty coming?
It seems the only way to clear this up and get a level playing field, without turning it into an inquisition. Wouldn't be surprised to see more deals come to light at every club with their higher paid players. The Hawks and Pies come to mind with how they can fit everyone under the cap and keep everyone happy.

This is looking like shameful muck-raking on the part of EQ. Read the article. There's nothing there and even she says so. The Victorian media needs to be called to account.
Wow, that is a lot of words to basically say 'Nothing to see here'.

Latest from Emma Quayle - Dangerfield contract now being investigated. Commission was adjourned to allow AFL to further investigate + allow Adelaide camp to prepare.

The fact that Quayle and Wilson are "privy" to all this information is becoming a bloody joke, the AFL has to be aware of the source and yet allows it to continue!!! This whole investigation is becoming nothing short of farcical!!!

Quayle has officially lost me as a fan, she's joined the Rucci school of journalism!!!

I hope all of our players who this muck raker names are free to sue her when this is all over, it's disgraceful that she has information from their managers which disputes what she's saying and she still prints stuff and calls their good names into question. So glad I changed my mind about pursuing journalism, they're worse than used car salesmen!

It's starting to make more sense that leaks are coming from within AFL. If this is true and it is found to be true, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a break-away competition in the next 5 years.

Fairfax Media covering their arses in EQ's 'article'... The deals for Dangerfield, Tippett and van Berlo were lodged with the AFL and approved by the league, and Fairfax Media is not suggesting any wrongdoing by the players, or that Adelaide exceeded its salary-cap allowance.

So, why mention it? Oh right, it sells papers.
