Lions Roar have called "news coming" re: jumper on twitter...
What are you saying? The "old-old" jumper is to be a special release ala a Jean Shrimpton mini for this this years Spring Carnival?

Until all the details are released I am sure this will be a vote on the jumper that won't be coming in till the 2015 season.

Even if so... Better than Malcolm's original plan of stuffing around until the end of next year and delaying any real change until 2016.

Dear Members

In recent months, the Club has received feedback from Members regarding the current guernsey, which has been in place since the end of 2009.

As you’re aware, the Club committed, via its Members Charter implemented in 2011, that it would seek to consult with its membership base regarding potential major changes to its guernsey.

As always, the Club wants to know what you think and will ask the following question as part of its annual survey of Members to be distributed later this month:

·Do you believe the Lions’ guernsey should change design? YES / NO

The survey will be sent to ALL Lions Members via email in the week commencing September 16.

Members are urged to complete the entire survey – not just the question relating to the guernsey, as the survey software requires it for responses to be considered valid.

Members will have until Friday, 4 October, 2013 to complete the survey. Results relating to the guernsey will be published on lions.com.au in October.

The Club would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to participate in this survey.

Go Lions.
From all of us at the Brisbane Lions

I hear Grim is phonning the betting agencies looking to place $10 on YES at $1.02 as we speak!

*Edit - before it shortens. ;)

Very vague if you ask me, but it's definitely more than we've ever had before, it's about bloody time!!!!

Yeah doesn't say to go back to the old lion. Just says should the design change..... I think someone mentioned ages ago this would be something they would do. Word it in such a way they can change it again but not go back... IE add the lion in the top corner of the Guernsey but leave the current one in place.

Not saying they would but I don't like the wording as it leaves a lot of wiggle room.

The way the question is worded does help the incumbent guernsey a little as the "ambivalent/don't care" types are more likely to say "no".

That said, I think there is a widespread desire for change.

This is the first stage in a wider process. There will be consultation on the actual design should members vote for change.

Just spoke to my extended family Parents, Grandparents and some uncles/Aunties who don't have email addresses. Told them I'd get on Hotmail and make some for them. Surely I can ring the club and update the email details with them?

I actually like how thats been worded.

I'm going to get shot for saying this but I think it may be a great opportunity for a new jumper all together. As the current jumper is a half-arsed abomination and the old jumper design may carry too much fitzroy pride with it.

With all the goings on we might as well start from a clean slate and unite the both fans bases with a new design we could all embrace.

I would like to think that as a club with two support bases we'd could design that was developed in honour of both victorian and queensland supporter spirit (whilst still remembering our heritage at the same time).

Plenty of maroon, got the Fitzroy yoke and Lion and we won three premierships in it!

When I see the old jumper, I personally don't think of Fitzroy pride. I think of..

I think the original jumper has plenty of Fitzroy pride in it.
And plenty of Brisbane Bears pride in it.
And come to think of it, plenty of Brisbane Lions pride in it.
And honours both our victorian and queensland supporter spirit (whilst still remembering our heritage at the same time).
And unites us.

The problem with employing consultants is that, if they don't suggest change, then they're essentially outlining that they aren't required and shouldn't be paid or 'employed' in the future.

We had something that was pretty darn special to this club. And we botched it for the sake of change.

And gee, doesn't that have some ring to it at the moment. From a jumper perspective. And a Voss perspective.

(PS. I agree with you on the half arsed abomination bit. Right on the money there)

Dont get me wrong I love the jumper. But the lion is still heavily associated with fitzroy.

I just feel it may be a good time for a fresh design we can all be happy with as it seem we're in a phase of rebuild
