Agree.. hot favorite for this event to.. but her pet backstroke events take precedence as she is a Games rookie and may not handle the pace of an Olympic race schedule says her coach. Well, I say phooey to that. Kaylie is 20.. remember 15 year old swimming baby Shane Gould in '72.. she handled the race schedule pressure fine.. Yet again Gould was a freak.

the '72 Olympics were amateur for the women, none of them were full time swimmers which meant the level wasn't as high.

if her coach doesn't think she can do the full program she can't.

frankly if you are thinking medals she should have pulled out of the 100m back.

The IM semi was only the same night as the 100m backstroke final, so it is understandable. i can see her doing something amazing time wise in the 100m backstroke.

She isn't that far ahead of the pack in the 100m backstroke, not sure it is as certain as the IM?

Completely forgot about that.. I was expecting to watch the heats this morning but we have to wait until tonight

I've downloaded the official Tokyo 2020 app on my phone. When setting up, it asks for your location so that it show the events in your timezone.

Once you have the app, go to the schedule and then I filtered to swimming to show only those events for the day.

Four more of our rowing teams into the finals.. with three of them winning their race. So we may pick up some metal...

Swim Swam magazine have done their predictions. They expect the Aussie women to dominate and the US men to dominate. 17 events each gender and the mixed relay.

Aus Women 8-2-3 = 13
Usa Women 4-7-3 = 14

Aus Men 1-2-3 = 6
Usa Men 6-3-1 = 10

Mixed relay Aus silver USA Bronze

In line with what I said after trials of both countries, Oz should win 15-20 medals I thought 6 or 7 gold and USA 25-30 medals and golds drop back from 16 of the last 2 games to about 12.
