Ward and 10 for Barrass?

Nah
Im happy to not take Ward too
no, I have no idea, but not sure Ward would be interested in a move to Perth.
Hawks have now got 6-7 excellent players in the VFL who are AFL standard, sooner or later they will start looking around.
Yeah, there will be a club in Vic whod be happy to take him if he wanted more game time

Ward hasn't really put many foots wrong, he is just at the wrong club where we have a sweet of inside mids in their early 20's establishing themselves at the same time. I don't think Hawthorn would push him out or let him go cheaply. I am worried clubs will come knocking though.

Makes you wonder how hawthorn are not first on ladder with that level of quality.

It kinda proves the point of you are desperate for KPPs doesnt it. I mean all of that in reserve and Hogan single handidly beat you by himself last week

Why worry about pick 10 in this situation when Mackenzie isnt getting a game?
Not desperate for KPP's

But we need elite KPP's, and DGB hasnt come on, Phillips is a stop gap, Serong a tad small and Mccabe is 18

Battle and Barrass make us a 2-3 win better side next year at a minimum

Both of those comments make no sense. 2-3 wins is the difference between top 4 and say 8-10th.

If you are not desperate to finish top 4 with 2-3 wins extra then 8-10th, then im confused as to what the club is even doing.

I wouldnt say Battle is pencilled in either. Id expect Battle saying No and Barass is the one you want instead also

Club wants to make top 4, an extra 2-3 wins makes that a probability (as i said, at a minimum)

Battle is penciled in, as is Barrass

You are not desperate for KPPS but are signing 2 right of the bat at very high wages after a KPP forward beat you single handidly 5 days ago and doing so as its 2-3 wins difference to you as a team?

If thats not desperation then I dont know what is.

I also dont think the whole "we will keep Frost' is a smart strategy when you are trying to win NOW like Mithell is going with. If you could keep what you got at FB then Hogan would have kicked 2 goals last week

Signing 2 Elite AFL KPP isnt desperation, its building a team to win a flag

All teams should be desperate to win flags

Its called having depth, as WC fan you should understand the need for depth over the last few years

People aren’t worrying about pick 10, it’s adding anything extra. Also that list was pretty generous to us.

Future 2nd is fine. If you plan on finishing top 4 then pick 35 isnt something id fight tooth and nail to keep exactly.

I dont really see the point in talking to a contracted player if you think youd get a even or fair deal in a trade. Best to just flat out ignoore contracted footballers altogether if thats the aim of the club

Are you suggesting WC would walk away from Pick 10 for Barrass? I guess a line has to be drawn somewhere.

If that was the final offer I think we would. He’s worth more to us than that alone.
Fair enough, might go to the wire and depend on what WC plan to do with the pick. I have doubts hawks would go higher, that's already a lot in this draft for a to be 29 yr old.

Personally as I've already shared Im suspect that the trade at all is worth doing, I might be gun shy but not as bullish that we are a Barrass away from top 4.

And I don’t see the point in a contracted player seeking talks with another team!

I think it would be a game between the 2 whereby we would walk away for sure. That 2nd rounder would unlock alot for us trade wise so can see us wanting it. Would be the difference to us in being able to unlock the Baker trade + get a pick in the 40s which we would need to guarantee Malaki Champion

I'm sure their is other ways you guys could get that 2nd.

Not without trading out future 2nd ourselves which seems dumb.
Might need to be a multi club trade if both clubs have multiple irons in the fire. Think hawks have a bit more going on than just Barrass and need to also unlock some things.
