Barrass is probably going to be involved in the Baker trade. Hawks give their first to Tigers. Baker to Eagles. swap of F2 from hawks to Eagles and Eagles F2 and 59* to Tigers for pick 21*. Eagles having 3* 21* & 23*. Would be better for a side that needs to rebuild. 59 helps tigers for trading to teams that need picks for bids.

Hawks knew what the price would be when they came knocking and sent a coach over trying to convince him to come over.
Silly logic on why Eagles fans are happy to trade him.

Because we press up and limit inside 50’s when it does get in our defenders are a lot more exposed as opposed to us dropping back more and conceding more inside 50’s but having a better set up when we do.
Barrass won’t change this and will leave him more exposed 1-on-1 where he has had some troubles lately. He will also need to cover a lot more ground than he would at the eagles.
Good player but I’m hoping we miss him due to his age, cost and risk with his back.
Could be included in a lot of trades, GC, Brissy first round bundle ectz

There is absolutely zero chance WC are trading Barrass in order to spend the bulk of the draft capital on Baker. The trade is probably something like Hawks 1st and F2 for Barrass and a junk pick depending on where Hawks end up this year. Baker and 40 something for the Hawks F2 and WC 2nd this year. Or to make it easier to read and assigning random numbers

Trying to balance it out so all parties are happy is such a difficult thing. I think next year Eagles F2 thanks to draft bidding changes may actually be ending worth more than 21 this year for the mere fact any team with a player going to be bid on in the first round is going to want that pick. So in that case maybe Tigers also give 36 to the eagles.
Only pick that might be involved from the Barrass deal for Baker is the 2nd rounder that will be involved.
Baker came out and did say a late 2nd round pick wont do it.
Well an early 2nd isnt a late 2nd. Throw in a Culley as steak o ives and rhe deal is done,

Yes but the context matters. Lake was added to one of the best teams of all time and Cameron being younger and better matters.

Why don't the Eagles repay the loyalty that Barrass has shown them and honour their handshake deal? Seems awfully callous and for what, there should be plenty of money to go around even if they need to throw some at Tim English.

Why don't Freo go sign Fyfe for another 5 years. Pretty callous not to give him that contract aswell if we are going down that path.
Not a charity mate. New management is good because it removes all emotion from the decisions.
Sucks for Barrass but he will get paid elsewhere if other clubs can offer a suitable trade.
He really messed up by going against his managers advice and signing that last contract with a handshake deal

Loyalty schmoyalty. I doubt Barrass or any player would agree to not be paid if they missed a year through injury.

they did honour it. they did offer him a raise. he rejected it.

I can kind of see why Barrass isn't feeling valued at West Coast.
