Close, but probably Libba. One of the best inside mids in the competition, had an elite year with great consistency. Rocky can't do consistency for the whole year. And Libba's younger than him.

Libba.

lol. I know you went from some effort finding that i still stand on the comment. Rocky is a much better kick

Libba is an excellent kick. For Rockliff to be a "much better" kick he'd have to be pretty damn amazing.

Why are we comparing a kid who wasn't even taken in the national draft with a kid who was good enough to go in the first round but WB lucked out and got him with their second father/son pick?

What does that have to do with anything?

Jack Watts was a number one pick yet Brian Lake was pick 71. Draft pick does not always equal a player's quality and has nothing to do with this poll.

Liberatore for me.

Could go the other way and say why are we comparing a player who started his career in 2008 to a player who started his career in 2011.

To be able to say so definitively that Liberatore is already better speaks volumes of the kid's talent.

Sorry this thread just regards clearances

The OP wasn't comparing them in terms of clearances in his post... He was just calling Libba the clearance king.

You're getting hung up on nothing.

I hope you realise Rocky wasnt midfielding until later in the year. Spent the start of it in the forward line.

He averaged 27.4 touches to Libbas 26.

Heres the break down of averages for the year:

So, firstly, Rock is 23 and Libba is 21. So Rock has 2 years in the system. Hes also 4cm taller and 4kg taller than Lib

Rock played 21, Lib played an extra at 22.

Disposals were pretty even, marks Rockliff has more since he played more in the forward line for the start of the game, which would explain his slightly higher goal/behind average.

Libba tackles 6.2 times a game compared to Rocks 5.1 average. Both are pretty close on inside 50's, with Rock ahead on Goal assists.

As said, Libba has more contested and Rock as more uncontested.

Both are pretty efficient, both share similar clangers.

Libba has 8.4 clearances compared to 4.6 for Rock.

The rest of the stats are pretty dead heated.

However, when Rock was put 100% into the midfield, roughly from Round 16 against North through to round 23, he averaged 32.25 touches over 8 games. Thats a massive impact, and likely would have been close to his full season average had he sat in the guts since round one.

And if you want a more accurate indication of what Rockliff was like at Libbas age of 21, he was averaging 27.7 touches, 5.6 marks, 5.4 tackes and 112.1 Super Coach pointsover 20 games.

But when it comes down to it, they are both fine players.
