Good old Kevvy Rudd acting like a complete pig with a make up artist. Funny how the left wing loon feminists hate on TA so much yet Rudd's the one with the treating female employees like dirt track record.

apart from the rhyme and rhytm it aint a sonnet or haiku Tony. you do not cremate a corpse after you bury it. and since when did the micks crmate their corpse. they dont.

come on Gus. pass him some wide berth. He conflated his meal on airforce1 and the makeup artist not bringing him his rib-eye porterhouse.

Sorry about that, I got confused. Liberals are supposed to be the the silver top brigade with disdain for the rank and file working class.

From the man who had David Oldfield, the founder and driving force of One Nation, as a staff member it is surprising that he brings this up in a soft character article. It would suggest he genuinely reached his fifties still distrusting immigrants. Not even Manly is that white!

At the campaign launch, Abbott just repeated his line about immigrants coming here to build the country not change the country. Now I see why he mentioned it in the soft character article on him. It's a lead-in to him dogwhistling about only letting people into the country who aren't 'too different'.

Except anti-immigration people didn't like the migrants post WW2. And they weren't just Greek obviously.

Yeah but their kids were the ones bitching about the "Asian Invasion" in the 80s and 90s and now their grandkids are the ones going on about Muslims. With every new wave of immigration/refugee arrival to Australia, we have been told by some, that it will destroy the fabric of society and so far they have a 100% rate of failure with this prediction.

this is about boat people dude.

this is about legitimising the aggressive policy position on boat people, to sate the centre left who might vote for him. those concerned hand wringers. jane's luvvies.

abbott is not after a far right vote. there is no National Front. he has that by default

and abbott seeks to legitimise one. and deligitimise other. legitimising one makes him deligitimising the other all the stronger

What an irrelevant and depressing point. Of course plenty would still be alive as children get to migrate too! So let's not focus on our inevitable demise okay?

Perhaps I missed Blackat's point as he does speak cryptically/crazily. Abbott set up the line as him saying he'd been talked around into believing 99.99% of migrants come here to build the country, not change it (a realisation he only came too "in recent years" - WTF?). But now he uses the line without the "99.99%" and without the suggestion that he was previously wrong about immigrants, so it sounds more hardline. 'People who want to change Australia rather than build it, won't come under an Abbott govt.'

Abbott might be like Howard and only dogwhistle about immigration while letting in record numbers (as business wants of course), but his previous employment of Oldfield, the 95% whiteness of the people in his campaign ads and his apparent use of the term "anglosphere" while describing the origin of history's civilising institutions suggests he may mean it more than Howard. Less muslim refugees under an Abbott govt will probably be the only result, but it feeds the impression that he is more 1913 than 2013.
