Was I the only one watching the game yesterday that was frustrated by the extra handballs given around the ground buy especially inside 50? The were 3 occasions I can remember where the ball had finally made it into our forward 50 and instead of kicking the thing atleast in the attempt to score something, players fiddled around with until eventually coughing it up. Rooey was one of those offenders, when he was on the end of a chain of handballs already and instead of swinging around and kicking it from nealry 50, went with the handball!

There were worrying signs last week against Geelong in THAT last quarter with the same thing creeping into their game. The reason why we beat Melbourne was because they used too many handballs. Why now are we falling into the same trap.

I might suggest i know why, because no one can deliver the footy properly in the first place but that's for another thread. Over possesing the footy is fine for a quality team, but when the team is hit by injuries and new players are adjusting to the pace/dynamics/structure etc. the 'keep it simple stupid' rule of thumb should apply.

Shocking game - and we should be embarresed because that was by no way near the level we can or should play.

the problem with our game on saturday is that we were beaten by a better team. we have relied on handballs to get us out of trouble, both in our midfield and backline. our running game is dependent on these quick handballs, that admittedly, cost us yesterday. however, with a full team back hopefully in 5 or 6 weeks, we should be much better, especially when we play WCE here! and we have an easy run in the next few weeks! finally!

Agreed.

Handballs just make it easier for the opposition to put pressure on the side. Until evantually loosing it or getting a minor score.

Easy run is good, need a bit of a chance to get some confidence back and to wait till our players are back fit. Plus Reiwoldt hasn't played a winning game this year.

An extreemly under manned st kilda lost to the #1 contenders for the premiership played at subiaco..

Without Hamill, Harvey, X Clark, Penny, Aussie, Kosi, and with Maguire injuring him self... aswell as a frustrated Gehrig playing below average. It was always going to be a tough game and 6 goals isn't a thrashing.

We did actually win the 3rd and 4th quarters of the game and if this is the top side in the comp i think we measured up well considering.. There is alot to look forward to when we get some of our key players back and start to hit some form.

The next few games in our draw are very winnable...

we could easily win all of those games. the only 2 that will rouble us is the hawks (though that shoudn't be much of a problem.) and bulldogs, but again, i think we have a better team!

I'm worried about hawks (MCG games are always doubtful), bulldogs (they seem to have the wood on us after beating us last year), and port (We play almost as badly at aurora than we do at the 'G)
