Top 5 Players in the APS

1. Vickery aint the best player in the APS.
2. Scully is better than Strauss, and Vickery.
3. D. Hannebury is better than Martin. Hannebury easy top 10.
4. Cachia should round out the top 10, ahead of Noonan, Kennedy, Nitso.
5. J Bull is not top 20.
6. You have missed Rioli from Scotch, easy top 20.
7. i dont know where you got who was training with Vic Metro from, but i could of swore i saw Cachia and a few other APS boys training with them that you havent mentioned.
8. The top 5 is...

1. Tom Lynch
2. Tom Scully
3. Jack Ziebell
4. Vickery
5. Jack Watts

Dan Hannebury, very unlucky to miss out. averaging about 25 touches for oakliegh this year. should be a good inclusion for vic metro. may seem biased, but lynchy, scully, and vickery are all top 5 players.

Firstly mate you must not have seen round 1 V. Scotch because Rioli was unsighted.
Secondly Martin should easily be in the top 5 he was haileybury's best player by far on the w/e.
Thirdly none of you know of Liam Jones for scotch but is an absolute gun who toured with all these boys on ais.
 
junior heenan will go close. there are scouts at all aps games... if you play well, you will get seen.

I dont go to Scotch, but what i can tell u is that this Liam Jones guy from AIS is a ____ing freak and is in top 5 players in the comp along with Scully, Lynch, Hanneberry and Vickery.

wouldnt have hannebery in top 5 he played againts mgs who apparently only have 1 player to b on the top 20 or 25, yea hannebery got best on ground for xav but he wasnt a level above the rest and proba;y wasnt best on ground over the 2 teams

There is one main thing that needs to be distingushed on this thread. Are we rating the best players on the way theyve played only in the APS, or in how theyve played in tac or in state or AIS, cos if its AIS thats pretty easy to rank the top 5 or so players. There are some guys in the APS who dont play tac e.g. lees, shaw, carter and they would easily be better than some of the guys who have been mentioned in all these lists.

Hannebery just got best on for Vic Metro, has had another 3 games for Chargers where he has got either best on or been in the top 2, and he is playing as a bottom ager. His talent is undeniable, and he will get drafted. You cannot make such a decision on one game.
 
this is top 5 players in the APS not vic metro or tac cup, he may have dominated out side of school footy but this should b for top 5 players in the APS this year, bottom ager has nothin to do with it.

Hayes, Hurley and Vine all do aths. Not only that but they tear it up. Vine setting records and Hayes and hurley only not in the fore front of MGS aths because there is such a high standard at grammar. With the likes of Baines, Marangon (1st XVIII) and others around anyone would find it niegh imposible to break in. And save the x's and o's for who ever it is your texting.

No, the thread is not "Who has played the best in APS games" but "Top 5 Players in the APS". Hannebery is IN the APS, and has shown that he is a top 5 player not purely through his APS performances as a year 10 for Xavier but also through his selection and performance in higher class leagues, against higher class opposition- some of who also play APS.
 
How about Will Cushen, full back from the Carey side? The coached pumped his tires the other week claiming he was currently "the best backman in the APS" and his track record would suggest that aswell.

p.s - Well all no and it is well documented that he is undoubtably the sexiest man in the APS, so let's keep the replies footy related ok?
 
could not agree more JSM Cushen, the self proclaimed best looking man in the aps is also the universally proclaimed best backman, the kid is quick strong and despite his ahhh i spose unique kicking technique his skills are as smooth and his perfect skin.... keep up the good carey consistently producing great defenders
 
thats good 2 hear then, will be interesting 2 see how he goes on lynch, nicolopoulus or vickery on friday depending on where he plays.
 
mcmurray from the hayls looking the goods this season..solid performance rd 1 been in the gym over summer set to take the comp by storm this year. it has been said he has taken scullys possy in the middle.

ARE YOU F**KING JOKING ME?

Will Cushen is one of the biggest spuds ive ever seen to take the football field.

Last year he got r*ped every game especially against a low kee WESLEY were there full forward who wasnt that great kicked 10 on him.

I was told that in the practise matches at the start of this year against De la Selle he got r*ped then aswell as they lost by a huge margin. correct me if im wrong.

I know the kid is younger but he definitely isnt the best backman in the APS this year and you would want to hope that he performs well this week against Vickery, lynch, Nicolopolous and Meehan otherwise you are joking yourself.

If you truly believe he is the best backman in the APS it shows the the standard of backlines in the APS 2008 have just dropped remarkably from last year as they had probably the strongest one to come through with the names of G. Chivers (st kilda),H. Sandilands (hawks),W. Johnson, J. Kennedy and D. Noonan just to name a few.

Yeah you're wrong there..he only played the first half where the score was practically level and did a good job, came off 2nd half where the guy he had been on kicked 4 in 10 minutes in the 3rd quarter
