Top ten NBA players

There is a big debate over the best player in the league, so I am sure there will be an even bigger debate over the top ten best players.

My effort:

1. Kevin Garnett
2. Lebron James
3. Kobe Bryant
4. Allen Iverson
5. Tim Duncan
6. Dirk Nowitzki
7. Dwayne Wade
8. Steve Nash
9. Shawn Marion
10. Ben Wallace

Who would you take out of your top ten? Who would you include?

I dont think there is a clear best player in the league, you have to divide them. Like Shaq is still the most dominant and he changes the way a team plays you etc but LeBron is probably the most talented but Duncan is the most bankable player to bring you wins and titles? Since MJ left there has never been a clear best player, just a lot of really good ones....

You really think Marion and Nash are better than McGrady? Or Wallace for that matter? Crazy talk. For the point of the thread Ill have a bash.

1. Kevin Garnett - the guy would win titles if Minny ever gave him some decent help.
2. Tracy McGrady
3. Kobe Bryant
4. LeBron James
5. Tim Duncan
6. Allen Iverson
7. Dirk Nowitzki
8. Amare Stoudamire
9. Dwayne Wade
10. Jason Kidd

I kept swapping my 9th and 10th ranked players. Initially I had McGrady and Kidd there, but changed to Marion and Wallace. I think I even had Jermaine in there at one stage.

I like Marion for his mobilility and he is one of the very few players who does a bit of everything. He is a fairly accurate shooter also and doesn't turn the ball over very often.

On second thought, I would probably add McGrady to my list now, in place of Wallace. The only reason is because of Wallace's numbers from the free throw line. The same reason why Shaq didn't feature in my top ten. That, and he isn't getting as many minutes as he once was.

I think either Jermaine or Artest should make top 10, both would go close

Its too bloody hard to do, but Duncan is clearly #1 for me. Does the lot better than anyone else, and unlike Garnett he takes over games when he needs to.

Agreed, number one by the length of the flemington straight

It depends how you define 'best', if it's in terms of sheer talent and ability you'd go with the likes of Lebron, T-Mac, Kobe, AI and Co.

If it's in terms of actual production, results and impact, you'd go with Duncan, Shaq, AI.

Cant believe the disrespect of the Kidd.
Yeah, I would have expected to have seen him on at least 50% of lists. I don't know he isn't getting the recognition he was a couple of years ago because of his injury early last season, or whether Vince Carter has stolen a bit of his glamour. Kidd and RJ used to be my favourite and one of the best combinations two years ago, but Kidd hasn't quite been as good since Carter became a Net. In my eyes, anyway. He is still a very good player, make no doubt about it.
