It's astute when you already have McKay and Weitering on the list. We aren't in that position. We also aren't likely to have pick 1 so not sure it's relevance? I might be missing some context there though. I think we're more likely to have pick 5-12ish next year.
I meant, I think it would have been astute for any team, because I think he's likely to be the most influential player from that draft.

Geelong didn't use a single top 5 pick on any of it's 2007 premiership team. And no, Ablett Jnr wasn't rated a top 5 pick at the time. They did however trade for former #2 pick Brad Ottens.

Collingwood in 2022 will have at least 3 times as many top 5 picks on our list as Geelong's dynasty starting side. Make of that what you will.

It tells me there are different ways to skin a cat.

I'm genuinely intrigued as to what Richmond went to Adelaide with in order to try and pry Pick 4 from them.

I wonder if they went as far as offering 7 & 15 for it?
I wonder if richmond want Ben Hobbs. Tay Adams like, inside bull. Or whether they want Callahan. To sacrifice 15 just to move up 3 spots. Clearly someone they want they don't think will be there at 7

Yeah, I don't think Callaghan will be there, even with Adelaide's pick. I think GWS will likely take him, otherwise GCS.

Could well be Hobbs or even Josh Ward I suppose.

I wonder given their need for another tall defender/ruck, whether suns would go for Gibcus or Mac Andrew. Not sure they need another mid, they also have hollands who hasn't debuted yet.

I’ve just had a look with which club may need 2022 draft points for their academy / father son prospects.

Father-son prospects Will Ashcroft and Alwyn Davey Jnr for Lions and Essendon.

We just get one of the clubs involved in a trade for Lipinski.

Eg:

Lions out: pick 47 & 57 (probably pick 50/60)
Lions in: pies future 3rd (probably pick 40)

Dogs out: Lipinski
Dogs in: pick 47

Pies out: future 3rd
Pies in: pick 57 & Lipinski

I could live with that, except for the fact that it still leaves us 520 points short of the 2500 we need to stockpile and open senior list spots start becoming a bit of an issue if we go for a lower value pick, as we will still be the equivalent of a late second round pick short on points after adding pick 57 and I don't think anyone is expecting us to dredge up that many points with another (additional) pick.

The Dogs won’t necessarily be a pain with Lipinski, we haven’t spoken to them yet… but we’re smartly trying to get Kreuger sorted first so we keep the option of PSD open for Lipinski.
Has Kreuger said he wants to come to us do you know?

Outside the fs selections..

Selwood pre draft was unanimously rated top 3. His injury is why he slid not talent.

Ottens a pick 2.

Bartell was around the mark from 5 to 10 went at 8 they Savily or luckily loaded up in one of the all time great draft years in 01.

They had a lot go right.

I used to know a recruiter from the time- according to him, as a 17 year old, before his knee issues, Selwood was the most unanimous clear cut number 1 of the draft era. He was supposedly miles ahead in how he was rated at 17.

Imagine how much more time could be put towards ad space on Trade Radio if callers would stop asking hosts how they are.

Yeah I'd like to see a bit more info on Continental Tyres as they nearly have me over the line I reckon - I might just need that one last nudge.

I know this has nothing to do with us but why do we even cop a mention in here .. Collingwood just constantly has to be brought into things it has nothing to do with. Anyone else sick of it?
He’s taking the piss isn’t he? I mean that’s the landscape and he’s in the media get with the times or get out.

Also, by the looks of Twitter, continental tyres AFL Trash Radio and I’m sure his program would have spent hours already talking about Moore and De Goey. In fact I believe his colleague was the first one who mentioned Maynard to Melbourne on his program… Pot kettle etc

I haven’t seen any public declarations, no. All along the lines of “he is expected to get to Collingwood”.

Don't give them any ideas.

Caller: Hey boys, how are you?

Cal Twomey: For Paslode, I'm as good as a Pope Hose!

The discussion around Cox had my full attention. It would seem to me (based on what GW didn’t say) that his future will largely rest on what happens with Lynch. Basically there’s no best 22 interest in him and given that’s the case he’d like to stay (he’d rather be depth at a club he’s familiar with), but he’ll be retained as ruck cover only if Lynch departs.

Maynard is also capable of burst from stoppage and has the kicking power to follow through for goals outside 50m.

Imo he is wasted in the backlines now.
Maynard's kicking has always been very suss when under pressure I reckon. If he plays in the guts he'll have blokes pressuring him all the time, I'm not convinced he won't be a complete butcher as a result. In building a good midfielder I think we can aim higher.

I actually think it's the opposite with Maynard - the longer he has to think about it the more chance he has of pulling out another bad clanger. Maynard walking back from the mark or past the goal getting ready to kick out with eyes darting and head on a swivel gives me the shivers whenever I see it.

When he plays a bit more instinctively and goes with the options in front of him instead of trying to find something "better" his kicking is pretty good.

Looney is at it again on Trade Radio.

He says Essendrug should shop Dylan Shiel around as he has not lived up to expectations.
He says they stumped up 2 first rounders so should be able to get a first and a second for him.

Is he delusional?
