Seriously wtf does that mean?
An "individual program" is quite simply put a program that has
been catered for an individual. Hence the terminology used
an "individual program".

As they plan to use him as a burst mid who rests forward
such a program would include weight loss and would also
include a focus to become leaner and more athletic.
When you are attempting something new it is fairly
common to have an "individual program".

Honeychurch is shit at most facets of the game that are required to be a good AFL player, but tackling definitely isn't one of those.

He's just one of those rare tweeners that is way too good for VFL but not good enough for AFL. He hasn't shown the ability to execute basic skills when under AFL pressure. That could change, but I haven't seen any evidence that it could.

Probably something we should have thought to do. Jake needed a minder, someone to keep him out of trouble. Still disappointed with the turn of events that sees him at that criminal organization.
Flip it on its head and it's suffice to say that only a criminal organisation (and one with a coach that famously didn't give any care to whatsoever to what his players did off-field) were the ones interested in him.

Funny how mentions of Collingwood's interest in him (where from a tactical POV his play style would fit in perfectly IMO) dissipated as soon as Moyd started his gig there.

Disagree here. Honey may never be a star but goal kicking aside, when he has been allowed to have a run of 3 or 4 games in a row he has shown he can actually play a good role.

This is a very fair assessment from a negative point of view of Mitch's game.

Honeychurch has played some good footy in the seniors. He like many players is a confidence player.
Round 2 2015 v Richmond. 18p, 6tk, 3cl, 1g, 9cp
Round 5 2015 v Sydney. 18p , 2g, 3tk, 5cp
Players that he competes with for his spot have gone past him hence he was one of the last guys re-signed and only for 1 year.
Highly unlikely he is on the Dog's list for 2019

I'd rather get games into a player with a higher ceiling than Mitch, even if it means their output is worse in the short term.

Disposing of the ball well under pressure is everything in the afl these days, and I just don't think he has that ability.

I watched him quite closely from the stands when we played Carlton at the G. He made some great tackles and pressure acts, but in the same game he also had some horrific blunders when he wasn't defending and had the football.

He giveth, but he taketh away twice as bad.

Could people stop saying players are shit? We're shit, they're just footy players trying their best to improve. Some are better than others but they've all made an AFL list. They can't all be Bont.

We have a list of 42 with only 22 playing AFL, every list needs guys like honeychurch Roberts and to some extent Jong. Guys that are on the lower end of the salary cap, guys who know the systems and can come in if needed.

I agree - players like Fletch, BTC are great depth players - can handle AFL and play a role if required - cost you little in salary cap space.

But our list is 44 not 42.

I'll say what I think about players. You're more than welcome to disagree with me.

He's a career 12 possession, 4 tackle guy who cant hit the side of a barn by foot. He will be lucky to play more than 5-10 games a season in a healthy re-tooling bulldogs team. I'm more than happy to keep calling him what he is - mediocre at best at AFL level.

Its interesting Tutts name has come up during the Honeychurch debate.
I can remember arguing with blokes on here about Tutt because he could run fast and kick long.
( as most of you know I was the Tutt guru on this board - he is one I got right ;))
Its a little similar to Honey except different attributes.
Honey has a lot better chance of eeking out a career , at least he has some idea how to play the game.

Anyone that has been on an AFL list for 5 years with all the training and education of an AFL Club and hasn’t made a single dent yet is probably 2% or making it.

Then add Honeys size to ur equation when we already have several other small blokes his chances of making it are as much as mine are waking up next to Alyssa Milano tomorrow morning.

Your preaching to the converted brother !
As you say , hope we are proven wrong !

Firstly, he's been on a list for 4 years (2014-15-16-17), don't let a little bit of truth bending get in the way though.

Luke Breust and Taylor Duryea spent two and three years on Hawthorn's list respectively without playing and AFL game and both are premiership players.
Jarrod Lyons had only played 22 games after his first 4 years on a list (less than Honeychurch), look at him now.
How about Sam Menegola, who spend 4 years on various AFL lists without playing a game, and then after a year not on a list, is now playing very well for Geelong.
Jed Bews had played 0 games in his first 2 seasons, and 23 across the next 2 (so same as Honeychurch across 4 seasons), yet is now solidly entrenched in Geelong's team.
How about Jack Steven? 9 games in his first 3 seasons.
Leigh Adams is another who played less than 25 games across his first 4 seasons
Our very own Matt Suckling had played 6 games across his first 4 seasons and that had included being delisted and re-rookied for Hawthorn.

All are 18 year old draftees, that were taken late or in the rookie draft, and are non-key position players, so you can't claim that it's significantly different than Honeychurch, and prove that the number is greater than 2%.

Alyssa snores hard mate, she is a bit over rated. I always get her to
sleep in the spare room once i have had my 20 seconds of fame.;)

I was including next year as his 5th year but play your semantic games to feel better if required. By the end of next year he will of played possibly 1-3 more games and the same garbage excuses will be used. Hasn’t had enough chances, great depth blah blah.

Lol you think Honey will be as good as any of those ? Good luck with that. He is a forward pocket pressure player and that’s it. Cannot play anywhere else. His strength is tackling and half the reason for that is he isn’t good enough to get the footy himself so he is always chasing ass.

I have alway loved the way he goes about his footy he simply isn’t good enough and never will be.

Liar!

No way you’re getting to 20 seconds

Be all over for me a foot away and if the lights were on I wouldn’t make it onto the room.

If he only plays 1-3 games next year there's no doubt he'll be delisted, because he only signed a one year contract.
In any case, it's a hypothetical, we can only act on the 4 years that he's played.
And I haven't made any judgement whatsoever on Honeychurch recently. I'm just saying those players prove that it's a greater than 2% chance for "any player who has been on a list for [4] years and hardly made a dent" which is paraphrasing what you've said.

Shane Biggs says hi

Talking about shit - what a load of crap this thread has become. No more BigFooty until next year for me. The disrespect for players shown on here is...well....shit.
